Dynamax Isata 3 e-bike rack

We’re the proud new owners of a 2022 Isata 3. The question that I have is concerning transporting e-bikes. When the bikes are mounted on the receiver with a Swagman cover the tail lights and license plate are blocked (unfortunately I couldn’t figure out how to include a picture). Any suggestions gratefully received.

Yes, that seems to be a problem when RV designers and builders incorporate the tail lights into the rear bumper cover. I look for, and prefer, designs where the tail lights are mounted higher up, separate from the bumper. It still doesn’t guarantee you won’t block the lights.

Perhaps you could add lights to the bike rack and tie them into the trailer light connector.

If you’re always going to travel with the e-bikes, you’re going to have to relocate some visible lights…..possibly to some form of framing visible beyond your cover. Also, the law stipulates that license plates have their own lighting, so law enforcement will look to see where and how the plate is actually attached.

Check CDN Tire, or even better…..Princess Auto in Victoria for a great selection of LED lighting options. Got some auxiliary lighting from Princess myself.

There are some high end waterproof e bike covers that have tail lights built into the cover, plus it protects your investment with the bikes. Look at Zeal Pro covers. Worth the cost and fixes your tail light issue.

This right here is the good logical response. Every car has about the same issue, thus there are easy solutions for it.
