Do you have the Jensen stereo on the wall?

I had to run a pair of rca cables to the Jensen from the tv

It runs through the DVD player. Turn it on and select AUX input. Sounds will run through ceiling speakers and the sub. Have to mute TV speakers.

Thanks for your reply
I tried that but it did not work
Red and Gray is hooked to output on back of tv and input to back of DVD
Yellow is not used at all
I have DVD player on and aux is chosen
Did you mean to mute the tv speaker by just choosing the green button on the remote ?

Yes red and black hooked up to tv audio out.

Did you check the volume is up in the DVD player using that remote?

Bad choice of words on my part. Don't have to mute TV, meant you will want to mute tv so sound out of ceiling speakers only.

This is how mine is set up and works. I don't think there is a setting in the tv to enable the external sound but you could check.

It sounds like you have the wiring correct. Check your TV manual for settings there, and remember volume will now be adjusted on the DVD player. On mine I get sound from both and can adjust temperature indivually.

Yellow plug is for video to tv.

One other thing you can do if you want better than analog stereo sound from the TV to the stereo - there's an unused optical (TOSLINK) audio out on the back of the TV, and an unused optical audio input on the back of the Blu-Ray player (at least on mine). Hook an optical audio cable up between the two, and then select the "D. In" function on the player, and it should Just Work.
