I always use air then follow with pink antifreeze. As for your faucet looks more like a defect. I would get on Amazon and get one you like. I wanted to upgrade my faucet and just got a real nice one on Amazon during one of those timed sales for $28. It ordinarily sold for $56.

RV antifreeze will turn to slush, it doesn't freeze solid until it gets below -50 degrees and does not expand when frozen like water does.

Just because you had pink stuff in your garage and it froze solid does not mean it is pure RV antifreeze. It could have been diluted with water, which is not good, or it could have been the cheap crap sold as rv antifreeze. Don't buy the cheapest you can find.

Also if the stuff is stored for more than 1 year I think it will degrade. I believe it has a limited lifespan.

How cold is it ??? North Pole ??? And what brand is it ???
I have the cheep stuff from Menards in my garage,,, it has been as low as -6 or 8 over the last couple of years,, it has never frozen ???
