First trip
Did the first overnighter in the rig this weekend, Friday to Sunday at the track. It was up to 80 degrees during the day and low 40's at night. We were able to give the AC units decent work out during the day running on the generator and the furnace at night. We had no power hookup so we relied on the batteries, the solar panels and the generator running/charging for about 2 hours each day. Everything seemed to work OK with no issues and the batteries had plenty of juice..
When we were getting ready to head for home, the DW decided she wanted to try watching TV in the back on the road and the SAT is supposed to be an "in-motion" system. But as soon as we started moving she got a "Signal Lost" message on the screen and it never came back. TV, Dish receiver and SAT unit still had power but apparently the in-motion R2D2 unit on the roof was not tracking. Unit worked perfect when stationary, so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if the unit is defective.

How long did you give it to track? We tried this out on the last trip and when we started moving it lost the signal for a few minutes and we were about to give up and then it started tracking and never lost a signal after the first few minutes.

I've also had to toggle the switch as well to get it to start tracking again. It's like ours goes to sleep after a while.

That might be what happened, I think she only gave it a minute or two before she shut it off. We'll try it longer next time and if it doesn't work we'll try the toggle on-off to see if that does it.
Thanks!

We were at Pike's Peak International in Fountain, CO this past weekend. I was an instructor at the 3 day driver's school we put on for folks to get their competition licenses, so it wasn't a competitive race. I did get my car on track to do some pre-season shake down testing but had a minor fire under the hood. No damage done but I put it away for the weekend. So I need to some more work on it before our first competitive race in June.

I started out racing a Spec RX7. I'm trying to get the club to allow a Spec Miata run group, fun cars.

Awesome car. Glad ya had a good trip
I’d second turning the dish on/off when moving. I know when they start up there’s a whole seek procedure but after a certain period of time they go to only checking every 15 min or something. Also note the sound of them doing that check every 15 min is annoying as hell so turn it off when you go to bed!
