After 43+ years at my full time employer, I retired Jan 1st and for the first time since I was 13 years old, I am unemployed.
Its a strange feeling and is going to take a little time to get used to. Now I can get busy on some of the MH projects and get ready for really using the MH this Summer. Hopefully by then, with the vaccines, etc things will be somewhat back to normal.

Congrats on your retirement. I retired after 46 years and never looked back. One thing it seemed like I use to get more done before I retired now I'm in the hole a lot . No more meetings and what don't get done today will be there tomorrow. Later RJD

Congratulations on your retirement!
One note of caution.... don't let other people distract you from doing your MH projects. After we retired people came out of the woodwork looking for help with their projects and we finally had to gently say 'no' to get some actual work done on our projects.

Congratulations and welcome to the check of the month club. It's ok to say "no" to people who want your time and "yes" to those you want to give it to. The only way you'll get stuff done you want to do. Livin' the dream is a good life. :-)

Congratulations. I took the dive about four years ago. It took me about 5 minutes to adjust. I had a job since age 13 also. I do have to admit, retirement is the best job I ever had.

I am a retired law enforcement officer and I pulled the plug 8 years ago. My wife claims that it is still not safe to walk up behind me without announcing her presence.
I do work a couple of days a week to help keep my wife and myself sane but we take off for extended 4 week vacations a couple of times a year. Next year I may totally retire. I only work because my employer allows me to take a month off at a time any time I want. We go a new manager and she asked me what I would do if I could not have my time off. I asked if she wanted my two weeks notice right now or when they deny me the time off.
It is great not being tied to a job and can afford to walk away without any financial hardship.

I retired almost 3 years ago and it takes some time to adjust. People would ask what it’s like and what I determined is that life is a whole bunch of routines and they all disappeared so I need new ones like using the motorhome more.
Happy retirement!!!

Well, they tried but the prospect of going to the airport every Monday and living in hotels just wasn't worth the money anymore. Now it's time to play. I'm actually at Freightliner today getting the annual service done so we're ready to roll come Spring time.

I'm pretty much in the same boat in that I just retired myself 30 November (to miss the Christmas week out-processing rush) after working pretty much continuously for over 50 years since I had my paper route when I was 12. I've been transitioning for a couple of years by working a compressed work week getting most Fridays off and been working at home since March. Biggest issue is trying to keep track of which day of the week it is.

Good for you! I walked out 12/29, 3 years ago. Couldn't be happier. To all those saying, "won't you be bored? Are you going to get a 'retirement job'?" Answer: No. And no. Still have to wait 4 more years for wife to retire so we can do those fun long trips I always read about other people going on.

Don't miss that paper route either, I was doing same thing when I was 12. My mom banked most of the money, and it was forgotten about. Many years later, I used that money to buy an engagement ring.
