Bill,
Over many years in my previous life, we would spend six weeks at a time dry camping at the shore of Lake Powell in the middle of nowhere. It would easily get over 100+ degrees out there at times with no shade. These absorption refrigerators don't operate very well in these conditions. I installed a silent, low-current, 12volt thermostatically controlled dual fan near the top vent of our evaporative frig. We went with dual-fans & selector switch to choose either fan or both. Nothing like redundancy. We also wired in a small low-current recirculating fan inside the frig with an on-off switch. These fans made a huge difference in maintaining some semblance of refrigeration. My previous posting is a link to a site that has an improved solution for folks with these absorption frigs.
I ended up investing in Danfoss compressor-based frig freezers to keep the beers cold, maintain frozen meats & fish, & make ice. The larger coach supplied evaporative frig was then used for storing condiments, veggies, eggs, etc... & defrosting frozen foods and storing ready to consume cold ones transferred from a real refrigerator.
