Fuel line isolators

Since it was learned #1 and #6 were cracking and failing we ordered these isolators from Cummins. Here's pics and part numbers. Easy install. Click image for larger version

Didnt the pick of the repair involve an added support as well? I got the impression the isolator was just to dampen the fact they were adding an intermediate support so theres not so much stress on the lines?

I also could just be going crazy...

Fuel line isolators

I agree, that seems logical.
The mechanic that changed my exhaust cooler told me that these isolators absorb the small vibrations in the fuel lines and would prevent damage as a result of vibrations.
I don’t have time before next trip to order new lines but I may get #1 & # 6 as spares when I get back as they were the ones in the original recall

I also bought lines one and six as spares just in case. Line one has a pressed on isolator with bracket. Line six surprisingly has no isolator or bracket??? The ones shown are supposed to work absorbing the vibrations in theory they say preventing them from cracking. They say they've had pretty good success. Time will tell.
