Heat pump not working
I just bought a 2023 Dynamax Isata 3. The heat pump/ac will heat or cool to the set temperature a couple of times. The third time it turns on it will not turn off and will continue heating or cooling. The only way it will turn off is to use the battery disconnect. I have had the unit in for service on this issue 3 times. Once they did a reset. Next they updated the firefly control pad and then they replaced the cable from the firefly to the heat pump. None of these fixes have worked. Has anyone had this problem and what did you do to fix it?

Moved thread from the Tech and Repair section to the Dynamax sub-forum, for better support from other Dynamax owners and factory reps.

This has nothing to do with Firefly....this is a GE control box issue.
I posted about it here.

Parts could get one, but I am not sure they can ship it....we can't ship "critical" components to customers (anything electrical, tires, wheels or LP related).
If you pull the ceiling cover....you should be able to see the box, which should have V23 written on it. If it does not, then for sure it is the control box.
At that point, we can ship one to a dealer for installation.

Heat pump not working
I have searched every online store and called every Rv shop and cannot find the part you list. Do you have a suggestion as to where I might find the RARE1A2?

You probably can't. It would only come from GE, or Dynamax.

I really want the part shipped to me. I haven’t had the dealer do any of this searching for an answer to fix the my heat pump and have no confidence they could put the part in correctly. My mechanic here is a retired robotics engineer that actually made the robot that landed on Mars! I’m certain he is capable of putting in this part to fix my heat pump. Who do I call to order the part and have it shipped to me?

My mechanic would like to know if the ceiling control box requires a firmware installation? If so can he do that or does a dealer have to do it?

That's the thing....first, I would confirm what box you have.
If it is V23, then we need to figure out what the issue is. If you do not have V23, then installing V23 is the first thing I would do.
If you get a picture of the box to parts/service, we can see about getting one shipped directly.
The firmware update (to my knowledge) has to be done by GE.

If you see no V23....then its pretty simple, needs a new board. Shoot that to parts/service

I’m sorry to ask this but how do I send the picture to parts/service?

Copy and paste the email into your normal mail program. If you use the "message link" I am not sure you can attach a picture.

Parts are only available from a GE partner that has exclusive rights on GE RV products and parts. I had an issue with my AC after a year, hard to find out where to go for warranty. Here's their address and phone.
GE Appliances Consumer Relations PO Box 1780 Rapid City, SD 57709
1-800-432-2737
Also, I got my repair guy hooked up with them to get the new AC. I will tell you, GE doesn't pay for the initial diagnosis.

I literally gave the info on where to get the part in the post right above this. We stock the controller as we install them every day.

Heat pump
Brian, my mechanic put the new part in the heat pump and now it says “no controller detected”. Any ideas?

They likely did not set the dip switches right on the new controller. Their best bet is to call GE directly or our people. I’m not sure why they would tell you what issues they are facing instead of figuring it out. Weird.
