High Pointe Microwave Oven Overheats

Any of the Isata 3 FW owners having problems with their High Pointe microwave oven? Mine works great unless we need to use it for more then 8-10 minutes. If we do then it automatically goes into shutdown mode (seems to self protect from overheat condition). The unit has power but is basically dead for about 10 minutes then restarts like new. Very frustrating when you are trying to feed the family and the micro goes out. Any ideas?

Question
Is this using microwave for 10 minutes or convection oven
We mainly use to make popcorn
I think I have used defrost function for more than 10

Make sure your outside vent door can open and the problem will go away. Ask me how I know

Problem occurs while using microwave. Not convection oven function. I was not aware that the Isata 3 had a microwave vent but will check that first thing tomorrow. Thanks.

I think our high point vents into the coach, unless a vent on the roof
Never been up there

There is no vent door....we vent back into the motorhome, you would use the roof vent to exhaust smoke/odors.

The normal range vents are terrible for RV's. The vent rattles and the outside cover has little clips that break. So we don't use them..code allows is to use a roof vent instead.

Had the same problem so we tried turning the actual microwave fan on while cooking. Don't ask me why but it works.

It is a shame they do not make the vents like the one on the 89 Winnebago Cheifton we had. The vent door was controlled by a cable that was the fan switch. Turning on the fan opened the vent. A much better way to do it.

agree...I actually custom built for a rental company back in the day and they had an electronic version. Power switch on, it activated a solenoid that opened the louver, which was spring loaded shut. Problem was, it was incandescent, not LED and the company stopped making them. Not enough volume.
