If its like the DX3 its got surge supression built in with the transfer switch I believe. I've thought about adding a sacrificial component upstream as well. I dont see why the progressive one would cause any problems. Just put it upstream so it will die before the one you have already.

Just hard wire the ems before the transfer switch.

He mentioned he had not heard of this issue before.

I have two options..
1. Re wire the AF before the transfer switch.
2. Take the AF out of the loop, when not needed. ( I used the install kit)
This would take 30 seconds to perform.

I'm going with #2..

Well... I went with number one...
Re wired the af before the transfer switch. Running on generator, no boost and proper voltages.

Only other issue, is the ems doesn't like the Onan generator. It kicks out after a few minutes. So, either rewire
The ems before the transfer switch, or just run the ems in bypass when using/needing the generator.

Does the EMS give a code when it kicks out the generator?

Way back then, that was what I was trying to tell you about the Waveform, obviously not just with PD converters...huh?

It ain't perfect. Perhaps there is also an interaction with the autoformer as well."
