Hydraulic Jacks Isata 5

Hi. Will be picking up our 36ds in a month.

A couple of questions.

1) will the jacks lift the rear end off the ground in order to change the rear wheels?

2) is there a separate fuel tank for the generator?

I'll have lots more questions, but from lurking on this site I've learned lots already.

Also. Does anyone have photos of the interior space when the living slide is in? A bit concerned about whether the theatre seats will recline with the slide in?

More to come.

1- Yes, the leveling jacks will raise the rear or front wheels off the ground

2- No, the generator pulls diesel out of the chassis tank.

Nice choice, hope you enjoy your 36DS as much as I do!

Agree with I5PhilGa,

Yes, you can use the jacks to lift the rig off the ground. Happens all the time even when leveling the rig at a campsite. I carry chunks on 2x8s with me to put under the tires because I don’t like having the tires off the ground for long periods of time (i.e. while camping).

The generator pulls from the main tank. The pick-up tube for the generator's fuel pump is supposedly set slightly elevated from the bottom of the tank so you cannot inadvertently run yourself out of diesel fuel while camping.

I just picked up our new 30FW today and according to the floor plan, your theater seats are in exactly the same position relative to the kitchen counter as our 30FW. You cannot recline the theater seats when the slide is retracted. There is just enough space for your legs and that is the narrowest section when walking back towards the restroom door.

Who’s you can raise the coach with the jacks, it’s not recommended and you certainly want to use a safety stand that has an appropriate load rating.
