Isata 3 (2017) dinette improvements.

Used our new dynamax this weekend, and when making his bed last night my son pulled off most of the crappy Velcro strips on the wall and out the the back of the cushions- the staples on the wall were not the proper upholstery ones, and the strips on the cushions were undersized and the thread just isn't up to the task in my opinion.
Has any one with the newer dinette (no permanent corner cushions), had similar experience, or a recommended solution?

Also, my two sons requested the addition of cup holders to the dinette for travel on the road, has anyone added cup holders?

Thanks.

Cupholders should no problem. I added them in when I was at Sunseeker/Forester, but then I got requests from some people that they wanted the table space. Hole saw and drop them in.

Velcro, yes we are in the process of changing that. The strip on the cushions are fine...sewn in. The parts on the wall and back of the dinette should NOT run full length. That holds too tight. We're trying to just keep the cushions from moving around...not keep them attached during a Hurricane. Instead of cutting the strips on the wall and back down, they just installed the full length of velcro, which is way too strong. That has been corrected and they're adding a small screw at the top and bottom of the strip.

I did explain to them, you guys took out the cup holders for a bigger bed - just can't please them all!

Where do you guys get the cup holders up in the bunk area? It will be nice to have them all match.

Thanks

Brian,
Could you post a drawing detail or picture of the velcro attachment to the wall and backrest. Mine were never attached. The cushions have the velcro sewn in but the other half isn't there. Thanks

All we do is run the matching strip perpendicular, then put a screw in each end to prevent it from coming loose. On the wall cushion, the strips on the cushion run vertical, so those strips would run horizontal with a screw in each end.

Goal is just to reduce the amount of contact between both strips...instead of the holding power of liquid nails...we're looking for something more like double sided tape.

Okay that makes sense. It threw me off a bit when you said they put a screw in the top and bottom. Thanks

Cup holders are easy. We ordered stainless on amazon and got a diamond hole saw to cut with. Came out perfect but I'll advise if you do it to have someone standing there with a vacuum on ready to grab the dust. At the same time we added a pop up USB charger to the counter so we could charge all our crap without plugs everywhere
