Isata 3 Series E-Brake Signal issues with newer MB Sprinter

This got brought up one time, but I have now seen it twice and it might be a bigger concern after a conversation with an MBUSA aftermarket team member

We used to wire to the E-brake lever and the signal that is there, however MB-USA told us that we should be wiring to their PSM to get the E-brake signal.

Well, they neglected to think about how people camp. Their MBUX (which sends the E-brake signal to the PSM) cuts off to protect the batteries after 6 hours MAX. If the chassis batteries are low, it can happen quicker. That means you will lose the E-brake signal.

End result.... the slides will not operate (even with the E-brake pulled unless you wake up the system...minor issue) AND the leveling jacks can beep at you (as they stop seeing an E-brake signal, bigger issue if you are sound asleep)

The interim fix is that we are wiring back the way we were. You can move the signal from one to the other.

I do not advise doing this yourself, it should be done by a certified tech.

Brian,
We're expecting to take delivery this week of a 2022 24FW VIN W1X8E33Y7LN127732. Will the E-brake connection need to be addressed?
I hear the Firefly system has a glitch that our dealer is working to fix (or update?).
Cheers

Not really sure. We did start moving the E-brake wire back to where we had it....just depends on when yours was built/shipped. We have instructions that parts/service can send the dealer if it is not corrected.

The dealer checked per your attachment, and we seem to be OK.

Thanks for the feedback!

Brian, 2021 24 FW here -- trying to understand the potential impact, which appears to be minor:

1- this issue is resolved by waking up the MBUX via accessory/door unlock, correct?

2- likelihood of occurrence can vary but appears to occur more often with a reduced charge on the chassis battery

1. yes.
2. yes/no. It has to do with the change to how MB sets up the MBUX and the PSM which sends out signals.

If you are not experiencing this, then you won't. It means it was likely wired the old way.

At our 2022 24 FW PDI yesterday (build date 11/23/21) the autolevel alarm goes off repeatedly on a very short time delay with parking brake set and leveler operated manually (auto level null point issue?). Opening a cab door kills the alarm but restarts the timer to set off the alarm. This is totally annoying! Is this a symptom of the parking brake connection issue?

Thanks
Mike

Dealer can get the instructions from their service contact
