Isata 3 with the "Q" Floor Plan?
Good Morning Brian,
I was surfing around the Forester / Sunseeker website and saw the new MBS "Q" floor plan. Are you planning to use that floor plan in the Isata 3 line up? Also when will you start delivering on the new M-B chassis?
Thanks,

Aug-Sept. First proto is wrapping up, I hope to do a full walk through of the changes inside of 30 days.

Brian, are you talking about the new 2019 chassis and/or the Q floor plan? I think there were two separate questions.
The Q floor plan is interesting, but I could not give up the spacious full wall slide. The Q looks a little tight up front between the dinette and the extra seating.

A smaller, lighter slide out that hopefully won't be as problematic as our 2400W full wall slide out was.... And hopefully a bit more CCC!

Did I read it correctly in another thread, that you might not do the RB (non-slide) version in the new Mercedes? Also, is the capacity expecting to be more with new Mercedes?

Hello RedLdr1,
I have been shopping for a sprinter coach with a full wall slide. I'm curios about potential problems with the slide. You seem to say that you've had such problems. Could you elaborate further regarding the number and nature of slide problems that you experienced.
Thanks
Rick

We have to do new designs to work on the new Sprinter. We did floor plan and electrical on our two best sellers and will evaluate the other floor plans we we get finish up these first two.
As for capacity, the initial chassis came in a little lighter, 60-100 lbs. Beyond that we're always looking for ways to cut weight.

Rick,
The problem was the full wall slide often required my assistance either manually pushing it out, or back in. Even with the slide storage empty, it was not " overloaded" , it would not consistently, reliably work without some "push power" assistance. We went through two, or maybe three, slide motors which were replaced under warranty by our dealer.
It was a bad enough experience that I'm not willing to do another "full wall" slide out regardless of the RV manufacturer or the slide out manufacturer. In my personal opinion the RV designers are pushing the limits of what a couple relatively small electric motors can consistently handle.
In fairness our 2400W was a early production first year model . I think Schwintek has since offered a more powerful motor than the early models had installed. So maybe the issue has been addressed. But I have no desire for a repeat performance so any full wall floor plan, like the "W" MBS, is off the table for us...

My 2016 Isata3 FW has not had one issue with the slide at all. Over 27K miles in 3 years and 30+ trips. I love the huge area inside with the slide extended so that was the main reason I got the Isata3. Knock on wood

Part of reason I have been leaning toward the RB (rear bath) model, no slide at all, so never a worry about either not working problems or being somewhere you're not supposed to open your slides. The RB with nice long galley, couch, and dining areas, all 3 in one big wide open area. Huge bed simply drops from ceiling anytime and anywhere you want some good shuteye. Then push a button and it 'disappears' into the ceiling. No need to make up bed daily, or squeeze awkwardly into a corner to put the fitted sheets on.
Some, or most, seem to like the open areas a slide offers, but to me being single, that is just wasted space. I feel its simpler, more solid, and I assume less costly, with no slide.
I would really like some alternative instead of a couch with no leg/foot support.
That is be the ideal 1 person coach on the new Mercedes. Now if you could only find one for less than 100k new.
