Isata 5 30FW SiriusXM & SXM Guardian Service
The RAM 5500 comes with a year of each of the above noted SXM service, complimentary.
When logging into "My Mopar" account, it says both SXM subscriptions are up on 8/20/19, which happens to be one year to the approx date the 5500 chassis was delivered to the Dynamax.
SXM rep told me there is nothing she can do after I told her I just completed purchase on 2/15/19 after getting the unit built to order and explaining that I should have a year of SXM service. I explained that it was an incomplete vehicle until recently. She then said I must be the second owner.... I let her know that the chassis was delivered to the Dynamax Factory in late August 2018 to be fitted into a Class C MH at a later date but she still did not understand and said I need to talk to the RAM dealer.
The SXM radio was already active when I picked it up at the dealer. I activated the Guardian service on 2/20/19 and it said I had six months of service, through 8/20/19, so I thought it only came with six months. I then looked at the window sticker in "My Mopar" account and it said it comes with a full year of each service.
Anyway, just wanted to get feedback from other Isata 5 owners and make sure we all get what comes with the 5500, which at one free year, is quite spectacular compared to other vehicle brands.
BC, is there anything we can do to get our full year of service on both these items?
Btw, coming from the Sprinter 3500, the RAM 5500 is just an amazing platform and the SXM Guardian service integrated into the Uconnect app is a great feature, similar to OnStar and the My Chevy app that I have on my 2017 Duramax.
Thanks,
Jay

This will be interesting, I know that my Chassis is a 2017 , but the body and production was in 2018. Per Chevy, the warranty starts in 2017, it's when Coachmen bought it, not when they sold it. Hope they can do something for you, but that how it works with Coachmen and GM. Like I said I would like to find out myself. To me it means I lost a year of the Chassis warranty

Supposedly, once the vehicle is registered, then it should reset. A lot of times, the dealer does not properly register the chassis and it still shows in our name. That is how it works for the warranty side of things...no idea on the XM side as that is a different animal. I'll ask.

You should fight that. When I bought my Sprinter, (Forest River Solera) MB started my warranty at my date of my purchase in 2015 even though the chassis was is a 2014.

Upon renewal tell them you want to cancel because it is too expensive. At that point you can negotiate a price of $5 per month per radio. I think the normal price is something like $15 per month. I have it in three vehicles including the DX3 at $15 per month total.

Sirius XM is always a challenge. I have had them since XM was a separate company with 5 vehicles subscribed including our Isata3. Calling customer service is a challenge, the English language is the first challenge. If you can’t communicate, hang up and call back to get a different rep. My experience is you can eventually get what you need, just frustration to deal with cust service.

We had the same issue, and couldn’t get them to understand that we are the original owners. I just gave in and paid for it.... 60.00 and some change for the year.
