Isata 5 Keyless Entry Door Keypad Stopped Working?

Yesterday morning the Pop-locks keypad or fob would not work. Had to manually lock the door. When we returned in the afternoon, the key fob worked to unlock.

This morning again it would not work and I can't get it to come back.

The number keys are not lighting and the fob is not working. I checked the contacts and pins on the door and frame, cleaned them and made sure the internal connections are still intact. I did not pull the keypad yet because I will have to reseal it and we've been having a lot rain so I'd rather check that last when its a little dryer.

Any thoughts as to what might be causing the apparent lack of power or where to look for a solution?

If nothing lights up, then you have no power. If it is intermittent, then most likely the pins are not aligned properly to the metal pad on the jamb...a god way to test, open the door just an inch or two, then see if you have power.

The pins may make contact u til the door is completely closed and then they slide off the edge of the metal plate to the outside edge.

It is likely just the geometry.

I checked the pin alignment. They seem to be making good contact and remain aligned. I even pulled the pins from the door and held them against the contacts while my wife checked the keypad - still no power. I also cleaned the pins and contacts with a small wire brush.

We blew a fuse a few times, on the Force the fuse was up in the bundle of wires behind the step. I also had to fix the pins, sanded them a little.

Maybe the batteries are dead? Mine has batteries to make it work. Not sure if yours is the same but look at the manual. Happy camping.

same with mine once, it ended up being the keypad. Replaced been good since. I had to check the two solenoids to make sure both worked and they did. It's easy by reversing the leads to check each if only one is firing now which sounds like it is, mine bad keypad did the same, dead, worked, then only operated one solenoid. Don't worry about sealing the keypad, it is weatherproof and maybe waterproof, it's sealed. New one came with a nice gasket, so I installed without that black stuff which was hell to clean up in the heat.

As halla indicated, it was the fuse under the steps.

The timing of this thread is good…..

I have a similar issue, BUT my fuse (under the steps) is good AND I don’t have power at the fuse. Broke out a meter, pulled the fuse and have no power there. I see a “Step Power” fuse in the Precision Plex panel and that fuse is good and my steps work as normal. It’s just the keypad/remote that’s not working and does not have power.

Anybody know where power supply to that fuse comes from?

In the Force it is in the outside electric cabinet.
