Jack pads?
How many of you use jack pads? I use to with my fifth wheel trailers but honestly, half the time I don't even level my RV. When I do, I don't use jack pads.
I ask because I noticed in the rules at Anchor Down that they require jack pads. I doubt they enforce it but was just curious, any need to use them?
Thanks,
Mark

I use them on dirt and gravel sites, and sometimes on asphalt pads just because I have them. I have a six inch block for under the tongue just to save time with the slow electric jack. 30 seconds is 30 seconds faster to a camp chair and a beer!
As far as leveling; I have to, my DW can tell if we are half a degree off when she lays down in bed!

With my six point level system it's just a push button away.

I always used pads with my class A to limit the exposure of the hyd ram on the jack. I still use them under my stabilizers on the TT

I have always used jack pads ....... Wood 2x 8s mostly....... I do it as I want more surface area under my front legs. I have seen too many trailers sink into the asphalt, gravel or sand and a couple to the point of turning over......

Ditto on the CG with asphalt pads, a problem in hot weather. I have used them a few times in soft ground.

I def watch putting them in asphalt and try to avoid it. Had ok luck in gravel as long ss it’s not wet.

I made my own and bolted them to the Jack feet so I don't have to mess with putting them down and picking them up.
I use them for 2 reasons:
I put the Jack's down on my previous class A when parked off road. Jack's would slowly sink in the dirt and required frequent re-leveling. It also sank in the dirt once and bent one of the Jack Rams when it hit a buried rock.
We use the rig a lot at paved race tracks in the summer. They mandate pads to prevent pavement damage, and this rig is pretty heavy.

x2 SnapPads and if you are lucky enough you may win a set at the raffle next Saturday.
Before the snappads I used bigfoot jack pads, but had to climb under and place them

I second the Snappads! Was asphalt camping at the track had 2 solid days of heavy rain. When it was time to leave there was a river under the rig. Hit retract all... drive home. No swimming to fetch the rain soaked wood blocks.

Had snappads for over a year now and would recommend them to anyone. You never have to deal with it anymore with them attached.

Perfect, I’ll wait so I can use the coupon. I don’t win anything anyways so I’ll just wait and buy them.
Thanks!

I personally don't like to have to place and then stow jack pads, that's why I bolted mine on so they are always on the jacks.

Posted this picture about 6 months ago, thought they hung down a little low. about 5,000 miles and no issues so far and while I was at the factory last month, They replaced a jack, got the pad off and on to the new jack,
I have had the jacks up/down about 20 times since then with no problems
(knock on wood)So I guess you can take them off and put them back with
no problems. You will have to ask Greg and his crew at the factory how they did it, but it can be done.
