Yes I don't like the play in the receiver. It's all the adapters. I looked into alternatives. One is a new 2 inch that would eliminate the adapter from 3" TO 2" https://www.etrailer.com/Heavy-Duty-.../41990-16.html.

Ok if not pulling heavy loads, that would reduce the towing capacity of my DX3 by 4,000 lbs as well as 1,400 less tongue weight.

The Europa is on a M2 106, and has a 2" receiver hitch. I wonder if that hitch will bolt onto a DX3.

One sure would think so, I'd assume that the tow rating would need lowered to 12k with 1200lb max tongue weight too.

Why not just use the 3” weigh safe? I have them in stock and give all forum members a discount. PM me.

We use a Trimax anti rattle clamp. Bought from Canadian Tire in Canada. They have them for 2 and 2.5 hitches. Can say there is no movement or rattling. I didn't like the side to side play in the tow bar when towing the Jeep.Click image for larger version

Finally found a design that fit over our M2 112 receiver lip and eliminate the movement. Made by Bulletproof.

Stupid question, but I assume you ordered the 3” one, correct?

I just picked this up. While not helpful in the "rattles" category, I definitely am so very happy not to be dealing with 2 independent step downs (3 to 2.5) and (2.5 to 2). One massive beefy step down is much better from 3" to 2"

Does this have a 3/4" hitch pin hole or a 5/8"?

Thanks

I was just looking at that but I wasn't sure how the different hitch pin sizes was going to work. Any thoughts? Sleeve a 5/8" somehow?

Something like a Draw Tite 38735 will allow for a 3/4" hitch pin on the 3" side and a 5/8" pin on the 2" side. And the 38735 has the additional hole for a J-Pin.

Good foresight! That Draw Tite is very nice. I may just have to add that one to my arsenals as well. I have never held back from buying an adaptor that proves useful, especially when they are of the "giant hunk of metal" variety that I know will be around for a lifetime.

That said, I do own a Pin that indeed came with a 3/4" sleeve to slide over the 5/8" and increase its OD.
