M2 Hitch Immobilizer

For some time we have been working to eliminate the play in our M2 hitch and flat tow setup.

We have been successful using a pin that screw in between the flaw tow Blue Ox and the GenX adapter.
The challenge is the M2 hitch receiver. Having difficulty finding a screw in pin that fits and the other immobilizer devices I've tried won't fit the beefy M2 hitch.

What is everyone using on your tow setup?

I've got a Roadmaster flat toe and I'm not sure what you are referring to. Can you describe it?

The GenYHitch rattles in the Freightliner M2 receiver. Not a lot of movement but definitely moves. If not addressed it can damage the receiver and/or the hitch.

Its not really the hitch

I think all receivers have some play in them. My unit not only has some play but it has 3" hangin below the receiver that I would love to cut off. This position is perfect for my trailer and they don't sell one with less drop. bummer.

I also have the Infinite Rule locking pin that is good for 40K lbs.

Yes, it would be nice if the fit were a bit more snugged up.

Had similar issue... Reach out to GenY Hitch. They can custom make a hitch to your specifications. Wasn't a completely unreasonable price.

Weigh Safe offers 4", 6", 8" and 10" drops on most of their hitches

Thank you... have tried a few. The flange on the M2 receiver keeps the U-Bolt from working. Can you share what company you purchased from?

Speaking of reducers, are they supposed to come with a new unit? I never got mine.....

Will give it a try. Would be great if it works. The challenge has been the lip that surrounds the Freightliner receiver.

Be sure to post pictures! Mine might be making all sorts of rattle noises but after flying Navy Jets, I don't seem to hear them anymore.

Really can’t hear it. Can feel the movement as it resonates through the chassis. From what I’m reading…it can eventually damage the hitch and/or receiver. Easier to solve the movement now vs replace things later.

If you’re not using a reducer then you would need it to go over a 3” hitch, correct?

You are correct... I caught my error earlier.

I believe I read somewhere once they went to the weigh-safe hitch (which is a really nice hitch IMO), they stopped sending the reducers.
