M2 Steering Wheel

Has anyone swapped/upgraded their Freightliner steering wheel?
Realized today that thicker steering wheels like what we have in our SUVs don’t cause as much hand discomfort (arthritis) over long drives. Made me think about the RV.

Lots of options out there especially from SCI. Not sure how it would look.

Thanks in advance.

one with some buttons would be nice...would like to move the engine brake, marker int, and a few other switches to the wheel.

Get a thick/padded leather steering wheel cover in the meantime.

X2! Especially cruise control! I noted on the Columbia cabs in some higher end RVs they have the controls on the wheel. It would be great to find an aftermarket wheel or swap for a Columbia steering wheel but I'd hate to see what Freightliner wants to install it and hook-up the wiring. My guess is about $2k at the PDX freightliner shop.

I have a blacked out SCI steering wheel, much more comfortable. Thumb inserts and thick padded leather.

Here you go. You have to get the hub adapter as well. I have loved the wheel, so much better than stock. Click image for larger version

Victor was the name of the company before they turned it into SCI. Same wheels.

I wonder if the Columbia wheel would fit, and if it would how do the wires pass through? I’m not worried what they connect to, I can work that part out.

There are some Cascadia steering wheels and steering wheel centers with controls on Ebay. I have no idea if any of this stuff would fit your rigs, but the seller might.

That might work. I’m thinking the M2 has an airbag? Looks like it does but I’m wondering why it doesn’t have an markings “srs” or anything?

Well...and you'll never be able wave to anyone. They'll just think "Four? Four what?"

Talked to the guys at SCI. They said the Cascadia wheel they sell wouldn’t fit on our M2s. Splint count difference.
