Macerator Pump not working

Hello everyone
Have a new challenge this evening.
Our Mecerator was working just fine on the last trip and when we put the RV in storage.
Tried using it today but it’s not powering at all.
Checked fuses inside and all look good.
Any ideas?

Could use a little more guidance.

I read in that thread there is a fuse in the electric bay. I just looked in the bay and can’t identify a fuse that is blown...am use to circuit breakers like what is under the bed or blade fuses. Is this another type of fuse and can I simply reset it?

Checked all the fuses I could find in the electric bay. All ok.

The fuse is one of the 30amp fuses to the right of the panel. My macerator went out and had to be replaced by the manufacturer.

I see a few 100s but that’s it. I must be overlooking it or have been staring at the mass of wires too long.

Does anyone have a picture of what I need to be looking for? Thanks so much in advance.

Did some voltage testing.

14.2V at the switch
14.2V at the Sanicon when the switch is on

Looks like the mercerator pump may have died. Just very strange since it worked going into storage and doesn’t now.

Anyone know if these have any form or a reset or anything else to check?

Also, what are the two smaller gauge wires going into the pump?

I'm hesitant to post this because I don't know the details, but I'm pretty sure there's a 'thermal' fuse within the unit as well. I've had to pump mine through a 3/4" garden hose about 75' before, and, after running for a good while, it shut off. After checking power and and all the fuses just like you've done, it started working again (presumably after it had time to cool off).

I realize yours has been in storage and wouldn't be 'hot' at this point...just noting something else that could have failed. I'll try to find it in the manual.

EDIT - scratch all that...looking at the diagram, the thermal fuse provides a path to ground through the switch for the relay to trigger. If you're seeing 14V at the pump with the switch 'on', then the thermal fuse is intact. Sorry for the confusion.

Sanicon fuse is the 30am with the two red wires. Same thing happened to me. Power all around and pump would not turn on. No garbage restricting propellers. Just died.

Thank you. That was exactly what I needed to see.

Checked the fuse... all good.
Called Thetford customer service and thought we were looking at a burned out pump. Jumped the pump directly to the battery and it still wouldn’t run.

Then, as I began to remove the mounting bolts to check for a jammed impeller...it came on... cool. Fortunately my hand wasn’t in there.

Began tracing wires and found a connection that had vibrated loose. It was one of the smaller blue wires coming out of the pump. Re stripped all wires and reconnected to fast connectors.

Odd. According to the diagram, the two 18g blue wires coming from the pump assembly connect to either side of the thermal fuse (switch) - one from the main switch to the thermal fuse, and the other from the thermal fuse to ground. I'm not sure how you were getting 14V at the pump if either of these blue wires were disconnected.

A win's a win, though...glad you found the issue and got it back going.

Not sure myself but I will take the gift of an operating Shi!!@£ any way I can get it.
