More Cable Slide Funtime!
Alright I know a couple of you have had to replace cables. So far I've just remounted a set of pulleys. Any tips on:
- fishing the cable back out the wall (its the rear bottom so hopefully this should be easier
- routing of the cables in general
- best way to reterminate (or is a new cable needed?
Would be very much appreciated!

Also, while I feel like I had this more figured out last time ... This whole system is a bit of a mind screw.
How exactly do you push something out with only tension? I still am not clear on where the "out" cables terminate lol.

It's kind of hard to picture how it works but it's always pulling on the cables to move the slide room.
The "Out" cables anchor on the room toward inside of the RV and "In" cables anchor on the room toward the outside of the RV.
The thing that you don't see on any of the literature is that there are two pulleys at each top and bottom location, so there are a total of eight cables.
The best video that I've found for routing the cables is the training video from Norco.

I had to adjust my sofa slide cables and found a one of the white foam blocks was off. It allowed the cable to get loose. Make sure all the white foam are on your cables.
Below is a youtube on adjusting the cables. Derryl Farar explains the slide components & motor/gearbox replacement. He also replaces a cable.

Thanks for the info guys! I think I've got a sense of what's going on now!
Now to find a replacement kit in the middle of nowhere west Texas. At least there are lots of oilfield workers living in campers so I'm hopeful there are RV repair shops to go along with them!

Fitness centers with cable operated weight training machines might be able to help you or tell you who services their machines. There are other industries that use cables including aircraft. Perhaps even the oil workers have what you need. Maybe a garage door company.

A rigging shop will have the cable and crimps needed to fix your slide.
RV shop may have the cable repair kit that accuslide uses.

Yeah I'm more interested in getting the flat termination on the slide end. I've got the crimper and stuff so that's east.

Haha I dont think you understand how remote I am. If I drive an hour sure. But I'm betting there are rv repair guys closer than that. Sometimes doing business the old fashioned way is still the best option.

I love my hydraulic slides. Very smooth and quiet. I’m surprised they still don’t use those in the DX3 and Force. I wonder if the xl is hydraulic. My last couple pushers had them and I never had a minutes problem with them.
