We have gotten great support from Relion. I will pass on exact words...

Post #13 describes the chart very well. My only question is why did the batteries shut off at @80%, unless the solar was trying to charge but not charging enough to support the load it should continue down to 0%. I might check the setup on the BMV and make sure it is set appropriately to calibrate at 100%.
Here are the important parameters to check.
Charged Voltage: 14.4V
Tail Current: 5%
Peukert Exponent: 1.05
Charge efficiency: 99%
SoC Relay (discharge floor) 0%

The BMV should also show current amp draw which he could check to see what the draw really is when in storage to see if it is inline with what you would expect.

You did a great job explaining everything and the key I believe is if he is in cold weather the emergency boost might need to be utilized when starting the generator. But the other issue is the AC shutting down the generator is another issue all together hopefully the soft start helps this situation.

In regards to “...the RB100-LT vs the RB100-HP?”.

The current requirement for any system should be known and the batteries sized correctly. Under normal circumstances the RB100-LT can provide 100 amps continues and 200 amps surge per battery. The RB100-HP can provide 100 amps continues and 800 amps surge. So in normal circumstances two RB100-LT should be capable of starting small generators, but in cold climates you could be on the edge of being able to support the added load of a cold generator as the battery will have less capacity at cold temps. In these cases the emergency boost switch may be necessary. So in summary the RB100-HP was designed for higher current limit requirements but the RB100-LT with its added low temp charging features can be used for starting as well as long as the current limits are taken into account."

Status on the Victron (as mentioned) should show you exactly what the draw is. You can turn ON/OFF things or pull fuses to see exactly what changes with each device. LP solenoid should make a big difference.

Some draw data:

Disconnect off, diesel gen: -0.12A
Disconnect off, diesel gen enabled (display): -1.9A

Disconnect off, gas gen: 0.00A

Disconnect on, inverter on, LP gen: -2.10A

LOW hours on the generator ?
if it is still quiet new and hardly broken in .......will make it harder to start as well
especially in the cold weather

run the generator more to make sure it is fully broken in
it may then get better at starting the air conditioner

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The drain on the battery @ 2 amps
will eventually flatten the batteries ...

sounds like it already turned itself off before
it will restart itself when a good charge voltage is applied

The battery sounds like it needs a good charge up ... plug into shore power (even 20amp cord)

OR run the generator for a few hours ... it would probably do the generator some good....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
either have some sort of trickle charge or disconnect battery cable while storing

Low temps are not likely an issue. We're in Tucson, and the temps have been 60-70 degrees most days when trying or testing the RV. And it's stored indoors.

I'll pass on the info from Relion to the lazy Days folks and see what comes of it.

Thanks for the help....
