Just curious.... What does the dry mode actually do? I don't have his rig and his question was never answered.

This is what google says about dry mode for dometic.
MODE - DRY
- The DRY mode is used when the room temperature is close to comfortable but you wish to dehumidify. - Press MODE pushbutton to highlight DRY. - Set the temperature to desired set point. Note: the fan speed is locked in LOW.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who's seen the droplets form. To be honest in an RV show setting its probably not much to worry about since the AC / Power is constantly on. The condensation should be limited to the vents covers since the ducts are constantly flowing with dry air. My worry is that by getting the ducts all cool then shutting the genset and ACs off I'm going to create that same effect in an an area much harder to dry out.
Anyhow, seeing as my original question has pretty much been resolved... I do believe its time to redirect this thread a bit (along the same lines as the subject of course)
So with that said - To everybody with experience in these conditions:
What general life lessons have you changed about your habits to deal with the humidity
This can be RV related or not. I'll start with a couple examples
1. Donuts are not a multi day thing in these conditions. Eat them the day you buy them, you wont be happy the next day
2. All paper products come pre-moistened. Keeping napkins in a plastic baggie seems to help
3. Doritos (and really all chips) go stale amazingly fast. Like before you're done eating them fast. Close the bag after getting your serving! and don't dare eat from the bowl that's been sitting out for an hour

For the rv......
- Put the rv toilet paper in a plastic bag to avoid soggy tp
- Use drink 'cozy' to keep a grip on cold drinks. Southern ice tea is a must.
- for a MH, cover the front windshield to keep condensation off.
- carry a battery operated 'fan' for boondocking to keep the air circulating when no wind available.
- use a sports headband if doing any strenuous activity
- prepare to shower more than once a day or get strange looks from your camping buddies
Living in a high humidity town (Houston), go north in the summer to escape the heat and humidity.

Nuking baked goods for about 10 seconds will freshen them up.

I always suspected that I would be a terrible boondocker and that was before I learned that Doritos can go stale within an hour [emoji51]

Why would donuts ever be a multi-day thing?
Serving size = yes

I mean there's nothing better than fresh baked donuts, but the day old donuts that you don't have to even leave the RV for are a close second.
The soggy mess that soaked all its icing into the bag it was in however is not.
Nancy- I'm always good for something new you didnt know you had to worry about aren't I??

It's a constant battle and can't be handled by running anything for a short period of time but has to be constant. You lower the vapor pressure as you remove moisture and when there is an imbalance in pressure the higher pressure fills the gap, meaning more moisture is drawn in to replace what you remove. The difference in that and temperature is that the moisture moves at the molecular level so it "passes through" anything that is porous. The only way to stop moisture from entering a "dry" environment is a vapor barrier (glass/plastic, metals, not concrete or insulation), that's why there's foil on home insulation. Without having electricity I think you just have to live with it. We deal with this in process cooling situations around low tolerance manufacturing all the time.

Grew up as a kid in the MidWest without any type of HVAC in the house. It sucked on those hot nights when there was no breeze and you stuck to the sheets due to the high humidity.
We didn't know there was any alternative so you just toughed it out. The only relief was a small fan blowing directly on you to get some evaporative cooling. Maybe you could get one of the inexpensive 12v DC fans for sleeping if that draws less juice. We've ran one of those before all night without depleting the batteries even with the residential fridge running.
Other option is to maybe head up into the Carolinas to some of the higher elevation areas, high elevations helps reduce humidity
That was a factor of why we ended up in Colorado 40 years ago.
And, I just saw on CNN they are predicting record high temps in the South (including FLA) in the coming week.

Choices must be made.
At my lake cabin, it is so well insulated that even with the (window) A/C's set to the "freeze the 8th circle of hell" setting, they still only run a small percentage of the time. Nowhere near enough to rid the cabin of the humidity that a Missouri Summer is known for.
I wound up installing a de-humidifier, and it works great for me. I absolutely LOATHE that feeling of damp sheets when you get into bed, and everything else with high humidity.
They don't take too much power. If the temps are moderate, you could purchase one and run it, but you would probably have to keep the windows closed or its gonna defeat the purpose.

Yep ACs have been undampening since yesterday. Its both a nice feeling and a disappointing one.
Really appreciate the offer. They're handling TX state parks on a case by case basis so I've still got a couple of tricks up my sleeve. But depending on how far/long this all goes I may be lookin for something.
Getting good at rolling with the punches that's for sure
