New Force HD on order for boondocking

I would like to know what specifically is powered from the inverter on the 2018 Force HD 37TS. We ordered the coach with the optional propane refrigerator to lower usage of batteries while boon docking which we do about 50% of the time. We also optioned for solar panels.

Easy to add 3 more panels and max out the controller that comes with it.

Thanks Brian for your quick response.
Questions:
1. Heat will work on propane with 12 volts from inverter?
2. Water heater will work on propane with 12 volts from inverter?
3. Entry step?
4. All lighting?
5. Kitchen receptacles?
6. Bathroom/sink receptacles?
7. We can live without microwave when we are not connected to shore power or running generator.

When does generator auto start, at what voltage?
Coach has 2 200 amp batteries so we have 200 amps to use before
charging?

Furnace is 12 volt
Water heater is propane
Inverter is dc-ac
Step is 12v
Lights are 12v
Ags is user programable.
2, 200ah is 400. ( 200 useable)

If you are going to be boondocking.. I suggest installing a battery monitoring kit.

Which battery monitor do you recommend?

Is it better to ask what does not get powered from the inverter on a 2018 Force HD 37TS?

Depends on the inverter make.
If it’s a magnum, then get the magnum bmk.
If it’s xantrex... then get the victron 712.
The inverter provides 110vac.
Grand poobah will be able to tell you exactly what’s ran off of it.

Well, the trick is to realize difference between inverter and converter.

Converter, takes 110V and converts it to 12V....so when you are plugged into shore power (110V), you can charge your batteries and operate 12V items.

Inverter, takes 12V and converts it to 110V. So that you can run your regular household appliances (RV Fridge, TV, DVD, CPAP, AC) off the batteries (pretty inefficient)

12V appliances do not run off the inverter, they are designed to operate off the 12V batteries (water pump, furnace fan, step) when no 110V power, roof the converter when there is 110V power.

If you are boon docking a lot, we would also recommend an RV fridge that runs off of LP and 12V. The residential fridge, while bigger, only runs on 110V and you need the inverter.

Thanks Brian.
We did order the RV fridge and solar.
It looks like the only thing we can’t use through inverter is the microwave.
We also ordered the 50” tv/fireplace.
Do we still get the over cab tv?

You do not. The 50" TV is typically in place of the front TV unless you special request that.

We boondock a majority of the time for several weeks at a time. To cut down on generator time, try to eliminate it, I just upgraded solar system to a 960 watt system from Zamp solar and 60 amp controller. Replaced the 2 12 volt batteries with 6 6v deep cycles at 210 amh each....so 610 amh usable.

Next on list is to replace the 2000 watt pure sine inverter with a 3000 watt pure sine inverter (already purchased the Go Power one) and install a new breaker box to power full house (except ACs) off of the inverter. Should have this completed in the next few weeks.

I just added 3 flex from amazon.

Since then, I have added two more.
( changed the controller)

Next spring is another 7 panels on the roof. Also need to find a place for 400ah of lithium.

The 100A magnum controller is awesome.
I will say one thing....

My next rig will have Victron.
The magnum gear is great.. but lacking in the connected department.
There is still, not a way to monitor anything without scrolling through the stupid remote.

Does the Precision Plex controller perform the same functions as the Victron 712?

Not at all.
The plex is your coach controller.

The 712 is a battery monitoring kit.

Merely voltage.
Simple display.
Does not measure in/out.

For myself at least, I would be very hesitant to use lithium batteries in an RV for deep cycle work. Lithium batteries last longer if recharged at 60% or higher charge. They do not tolerate well being pulled really low like a deep cycle battery can handle. Also, they get relatively hot while recharging. (think fires on the early 787 Dreamliner caused by the lithium batteries). My opinion you would be better off with 6v deep cycle agm battery bank for long term boondock.

.02 cents here only

I’m great at spending others money!
Make sure you get the 712 not the 702.
