New Sun Shades for M2 Freightliner and Sprinter

I mentioned at the Rally we were starting to get an upgraded sun shade for the M2. We have it for the M2, M2-112 as well as the Sprinter. Part number and pricing below. The only way to order is to call/email parts. We don't really have an online store.

All (3) are 257.81 each plus shipping

Sprinter - F100417422
M2 - F100514395
M2 (with cut out) - F100514396
The cut out is on the M2-112 plus chassis. It has the big camera/sensor box at the top middle.

These are magnetic on the sides (or friction fit) if aluminum cab. No suction cups. The front is held on by the visors

Will these come standard with brand new coaches being delivered to dealers or is this something we have to buy aftermarket?

They are going to be standard either now or shortly. I know they are coming in, just not sure if production quantity yet.

PS. parts did confirm they seem to fit fine on the old chassis as well (non-plus)

Just received my new sunshades. Really like them, easy to fit and they stay in place.
Thanks to Mark at Dynamax.

Are these just as or more "insulative" than the old?

Not a scientific test, but when I ordered I put a thermometer in the cab and since putting the new ones in I noticed a two to three degree temperature drop.
Obviously outside temps vary as well as inside but the cab does feel cooler. My main reason for buying was the ease and better fit, particularly the side windows

If we buy two sets, will the second set stick to or magnet to the back of the first set?

The front is not all that relevant, the visors hold them up.

The M2 is an aluminum cab as I recall, the magnets only work on the Sprinter. But you could always just pin them together.

Magnets work on inner frame of the doors on my M2. I think the door frames are steel but outer Skin is Aluminum?

Could be. They call it a "Steel Reinforced Aluminum Cab". As long as it works, I'm all for it.

‘22 M2 Door frame will take magnets, added then to the “stock” shades with some gaffer tape.

Got mine today. The door shades work fine on the non -plus cabs.

I have our 32KD out on the driveway today in the sun while I work on something. Put them up 5 hours ago and they are now heatsoaked and hot to the touch. Maybe I missed these were more for cooler months and not an outright replacement for the original silver ones.

We have the new shades in, sitting in Oklahoma (100 plus degrees), they are keeping the cab cooler than the silver ones. I do have ceramic tint on the windows, but I had that when we put the silver ones in as well.

Thanks for the updates regarding the sun/heat concerns. I'll order and give them try. Also going to have the ceramic tint put on, as well.
