EdandShelly, I would be very interested in more detail on your CB modifications. I suppose there are some differences in the 106 vs 112 chassis, but it would still be very helpful. Since I didn't realize the CB was discontinued on Force I have on order, I will definately be installing one. You seem to know your CB's so all the detail you can spare is greatly appreciated.

Not sure about knowing a lot about CBs but we did a lot of research when ours wasn't working well (poor coverage / distance).

I added a no ground plane antenna to the passenger side mirror of my rig. I get decent range with this setup. I just added a GMRS radio, 40 watt Midland. We caravanned this weekend and tested the range difference between our CB radios and our new GMRS. GMRS wins hands down. I was using the 1/4 wave antenna on the roof of my Force. It is 6 inches tall.
