Congratulations!!!! Here is the PDI I put together earlier this year with the help from input of all the members here and my own experience. Hopefully it helps.
1. Chassis
a) Check under carriage for rust or problems.
b) Check that the coach is level.
c) Check airbag adjustments.
d) Check the brake controller.
e) Make sure air hose and chuck is provided.
f) Check your air hose connector near the batteries and try out the airline. Use it to inflate something, tires. Ensure the connector is secured on the frame.
g) Drive it and make sure it isn’t pulling to left or right.
h) Drive it and ensure that there is a difference in the Engine Break hi and low. Keep it on at least in low. Freightliner says that it will not cause any change in fuel consumption but will save on your brakes.
i) Check that radio works correctly (e.g., that it plays on all speakers including house, that it can play the sound from the TV within the cab over, that the Sirius antenna picks up a single, etc).
j) Front tires 95 lbs/Rear tires 100 lbs will help the ride quality.
k) Lug wrench for the plastic lug nut covers…have them show which lugs are the ones to use it on as only a couple of the plastic lugs are threaded.
l) Check the driving cameras and ensure all are working. Make sure you can see the rear when not in reverse by using the cam button on the infotainment center.
m) Make sure 3” hitch receiver is included.
n) Make sure 3” to 2” hitch reduce is included.
o) Check and see what type of heavy duty sway bar is on it. If it is the bayonet setup have them replace with the clevis setup (Freightliner Service Bulletin 32-47 (Heavy-Duty Front Sway Bar Installation)).
2. Construction
a) Have the dealer show you where the breaker for the leveling system is located.
b) Have the dealer show you where and how to check the hydraulic fluid for the leveling system.
c) Check that the hydraulic reservoir is mounted securely.
d) Have the dealer show you how to manually operate the hydraulic pump in case of motor failure.
e) Have the dealer show you all fuse locations.
f) Check all wall seams and corners for completion.
g) Check and run all ceiling vents and remote controls for them. Do not use just one remote, check that all of them work properly.
h) Check every light, inside and out of coach, and under/in bays.
3. Exterior
a) Run awning out and in a few times but not immediately. Give it a rest between the extension and retraction times.
b) Check the locks both on the truck and the coach camper entry door. Change the code but write down the factory code in case it loses memory and resets to factory.
c) Check for scratches, etc.
d) Make sure two sets of keys are included.
e) Confirm the electronic door locks are working and respond to the fobs.
f) Lock with 555 and unlock with 1357.
4. Interior
a) Check all TVs are working and the antenna switch turns on and connects to TVs when you scan for channels.
b) Check washer and dryer function, look for leaks.
c) Check to make sure ladder for the bed over cab is in it.
d) Air ride seats, run them to full pressure and down and then half height and let sit for a while to make sure they stay up (hold air).
e) Air ride sets, rotate them to make sure they work properly.
f) Check all the light covers. Make sure they are not loose and check for cracks.
g) Make sure sunscreens for windshield and 1 for each door window is included.
h) For BH models make sure cab over ladder is in the unit.
i) Make sure all the interior lights work.
j) Check for any cracked tiles (including spider cracks).
5. Kitchen
a) Check the drains on the sinks, under the sink, for misalignment.
b) Check cooktop for heating.
c) Lower and raise the dining table.
6. Bedroom
a) Check under the bed for any leaks.
7. Bathroom
a) Check the drains on the sinks, under the sink, for misalignment.
b) If equipped ensure the macerator hose is not damaged. Learn the operation and make sure you turn it off when the liquid and waste is finished. Do not run it dry.
8. Utilities
a) Make sure there is propane in the unit.
b) Check access to the generator filters, service door.
c) Check that the batteries are charging when on shore power, gen power, solar, and alternator power.
d) Make sure external shower hose is enclosed.
e) Ensure the black tank flush will accept water.
f) Check all utilities work both when connected to on shore power and off shore power (e.g., battery, generator, propane, etc).
· Water pump (city water and tank)
· Lights
· TV’s
· Plugs
· Slides (make sure they show you how to manually work them in case the automatic feature has an issue)
· Stove
· Microwave/Confection Oven
· ACs
· Furnace
· Washer/dryer if equipped
g) Run on generator power for at least 30 mins off shore power.
h) Run both ACs separately and then together on lowest temp. (have them take off the AC covers and make sure the buffer between the return and the blower is in place and secured (search AC on forum as there is many threads on this).
i) Operate the Sani-Con waste dump.
j) If you have the Aquahot, check fluid level
k) Locate the filter wrench for the filter in the wet bay. They walk away sometimes at the dealers.
l) Make sure there is a water filter.
m) Make sure the external “shower” hose is in the enclosure (small blue hose and spray nozzle).
n) Make sure they show you where the low point drains are and how to work them.
o) Make sure the black water flush will accept water.
p) Make sure all remotes work.
q) Check to make sure Sirius gets a signal (some have not due to the antenna wire being cut).
r) Confirm and have them show you how the electric door lock key pad works.
s) Check for leaks every where
· toilet/shower
· waste dump
· slide outs
· water fill valves
· AC and heat
· generator
9. General
a) Make sure all user manuals are included and all the extras are there:
a. Big black according type case with all your user manuals, warranty paper work, etc,
b. Air hose and chuck
b) Start a spreadsheet of any and all things you find as a suggestion and repair needs. Use that to maintain a PUNCH LIST for Dynamax. Keeps all things remembered and a great check list for dealer and Dynamax warranty and Product Improvement Plans (PIP) for Dynamax.
