If this is the emergency start switch that is supposed to connect the start and coach batteries, it doesn't work. If it's just a switch meant to do nothing than it works flawlessly
Both battery connect switches are in the on position and I metered them just to make sure they weren't bad. One in the battery compartment and one in the cab by driver seat. Also the coach disconnect switch in the switch panel by the door is turned to on.
Flipped all breakers and nada.
So far I have left the generator run and I go put a charger on the batteries once in a while to maintain them. I think we are nearing the 50hr mark for continuos run time.
Still no schematics.
It will have to go in to be looked at

Hey bclemens,
I don't know anything about this unit, but it is GREAT to see your input into the problem. It is a shame the entire Forest River team doesn't get involved this way.
Keep up the outstanding work,
Don

It totally sounds like the charger within the converter not working. But! Unless the alternator is tied into the converter which Brian indicates its not... something else is going on there. Have you checked charger output at panel?

Check at converter charger panel.. from what your posting it sounds as if the problem is there at the charger. ???

One switch is to connect the radio to the house side. The other is supposed to be emerg. start. I'll have to figure out which is which. They wanted to get "printed switches" I said just label them for now...some people thought that was "hokey". Well, so is nothing labeled or printed.

I told my wife the one is an ejector seat. Now I drive alone, that might have backfired.

The one I'm pointing to must be emergency start because the one on the bottom right turns the radio on without the key. The switch does nothing though.

There has to be an onboard charger somewhere in the coach because this thing doesn't charge?
Can you please send me the schematics for the coach. Ben@soundconnectioninc.com

Removed and tested. Bad charger
But hey, at least I finally found it
Also, it looks as though the alternator does run through this board. So, not sure if I can just replace the charging portion or if the whole panel has to be replaced.
Thanks for all the help everyone.

The DX3 uses an inverter charger. The Force does not...its just an inverter. If the inverter runs through there, it is just to hit a specific breaker for the TV or GFI circuit.

My DX3 does NOT have an inverter charger. Inverter only. I have the progressive panel converter charger. And Albarson, I wouldn't think the alternator runs through that panel... why would it? I could be wrong.. I'll have to investigate that one.

I would think the Alternator would be routed to an isolator to batteries. Who knows without diagrams.. its a crap shoot.. that is one thing I miss about my Wanderlodge.. it had all the wiring, plumbing, air suspension, all the diagrams that came with my purchase.

Electrical/Plumbing schematics
Last year it was indicated we MIGHT get schematics in the future. We are still waiting. Its these type of problems that would be much easier and less time consuming to troubleshoot. All systems must be designed with schematics, so we know they did exist at one time.
There is a Editorial Series about the "Death Spiral of the RV Industry" that rings true for many of our RV experiences. Its enlighting.

And some were posted. Its just a matter of getting them into a format that is legible as most are layered CAD drawings.

Sorry, should have prefaced that it was an inverter charger in the 2017's and some late model 2016's.
