? on actual Length of the Isata 5 28SS

Dealers seem to be confused on actual length of the 28SS 4x4 with Wilderness Package. On several of their own youtube videos they state that the length is under 30'. That is not correct, is it? Is it not 32' instead?

If so, where might that limit you to going as far national parks, RV parks, or whatever? I'm asking because I read so much about limitations on RVs over 30'.

How much more difficult or worrisome is driving the bigger 30-32' diesel RVs to something like the Mercedes 24' sprinter RVs for a single 73 yr old who will be living alone and constantly travelling around in it full time. I assume there is quite a bit of difference do to size and weight.

And one more thing: Does the RAM engine/chassis have a downhill braking system that limits the use of your brakes like I have seen on the Ford diesel product. I forget what they call it.

Thanks for any and all opinions.

31ft 8in from front of tow hook to rear bumper using a tape measure lying on the ground and eyeballing the perpendicular.

Yup not 28 feet but still the smallest truck based RV you can buy.

Exhaust brake, yes it has one. Works very well. Hard to compare a 24 foot sprinter van to the isata.

Based on your needs, I would go with the Isata 3. We have owned both the Isata 3 and Isata 5 (our current RV) and for a single person, you can’t beat the convenience of an Isata 3 for maneuverability. It’s plenty of room for one person. I would option the theater seats over the bench dinette.

You can download an OM for 5500 C&C from the Mopar web site as well as all the technical bulletins if you really want to know what the features are and how they work.

The exhaust brake on the 6.7 Cummins, together with the programming of the Aisin in Tow/Haul, puts the Ford setup to shame. No comparison.
