Purpose and benefit of rear air dump feature?

I tried that same setup did work for me maybe I has something wrong but I purchased another solenoid valve and plumbed them on each air bag supply after the auto-leveler and the bags deflate now.

Sunset beast, it looks like you add the solenoid to this side "driver side " at the "T" it feed passenger side bag. I'm going by Frieghtliner today to see what they have to say. They may have a kit.. don't know.Click image for larger version

Update: Frieghtliner will only install a dump system utilizing their system. There's is a HCV " height control valve" which has a auto dump built in. It must run through the bulkhead module in order to work with "their" switch.

The 12v dump solenoid shown in the article is obviously aftermarket add on and is not rated as a dump valve but rather a temporary dump solution in certain situations. They advised me against it which I figured they would.

I know one person who paid Freightliner $1200 for air dump. There are some air dump rated solenoids on amazon that are about $70 for 2. I’m installing those. Look for vixen valves.

Every motor home I've personally owned that had air bags had a dump switch. Except "this one". I understand a nitwit or two ruined the concept for the rest of us.. thus, causing the rest of us to pay out of pocket for something that should have been installed already. Thank you nitwits lol.. Well, ruined for a "group of you" we have the dump optioned from Freightliner on todays chassis.

As a side note...when you say "out of pocket for what should have been installed", if it had been installed you would have paid more for the vehicle anyway. It's not like it would have been free....(just trying to ease the pain)

Thanks for clearing that up.. apparently it wasn't an option in 2015 for anyone I know that has that year.. don't think the extra price would have been a big deal considering what they were willing to pay for one of these. No big deal. I can pay Frieghtliner here in Nashville and leave it with them for 2-3 weeks until they can get to it.. or, do it myself.

Let us know how this goes as others (including me) will likely be doing the same.

For the 2022 models, would you consider front and back adjustable air bags?
It would be great to have the ability to dump air to get under trees, arches, bridges, whatever and to pump them up higher when going across uneven ground so we don't drag.
Also, dumping individually would be useful in sloped parking spots.
If we had front suspension air bags, would that allow us to do away with air-ride seats so we could have a lower profile chair that allows us to look out the center of the windshield? At 6'4" I don't know how Orange Crush (Randy) sees anything but the sunvisor He must wait at lights that turn green until he sees other cars moving.

2nd idea for 2022 models - ask Equalizer systems to put bellows on the jacks so the pistons are protected from the environment and don't rust so fast. Kinda like what you see on off-road long travel shocks.

FWIW nobody who offroads leaves the boots on their shocks because they trap more dirt and crap on the shaft than they keep off. Same would hold true of the jacks. Easier to keep clean what you can see.

And a lot of us bought these rigs specifically because they're leaf sprung in the front instead of air bags. Plenty of rigs on the market with 4 corner bags.

[ATTACH][ATTACH][ATTACH][ATTACH]
This is what I done:
-Tap into main line and run to bottom of valve (this provides air cutoff for your system)
-Run line from top of added valve to bottom of valve at leveling shaft(remove plug that is in it)
-Add another relief valve into the line at top of added valve(this is what will flip the internal valve to release or add air)

Was easy to do and cost me about $20.[ATTACH][ATTACH][ATTACH][ATTACH]

I will be adding my simple version from the drivers seat soon. I will list the inexpensive parts needed, including location of dump valve. Looks like there's more ways than one to skin a cat lol.. simpler the better for me.
