Rear egress window fell out

My rear egress window just fell out in transit on the highway.

The frame caught on the trailer and what's left of it looks like one of the latches had loosesed up.

I'm going to try and rig something up with plastic temporarily but obviously need to get this taken care of quickly.

What are my options? I'm happy to istall myself if it's straightforward.

I replaced my rear window with an egress window with screens. It has different latches that hopefully will not just open like that.

I would maybe get some heavy mil visqueen to cover it until you get back.

Sorry that sucks.

If you can get it here, I think that would be about a 20 minute replacement. I'll double check that.

Confirmed...the valance would need to be removed (along with the blind that is attached). Screws removed from interior frame, window removed. Install bulb seal on replacement window, installation is reverse of removal.

Just a heads up for anyone with egress windows...if you open that window too far or prop it open at one point (angle wise) it will just fall out.

It's designed as emergency exit. Even on the line, when we open that window to bring air hoses in...we have had a few crash to the ground (not moving). If you do open it...the latch has to be reengaged properly.

Yeah that was one thing that PDI guy was very adamant about. He gave the same story and as such we've not set a finger on those latches. Which is probably why I didn't notice there was a problem unfortunately.

Anyways, any chance those 20 min could be Saturday? Normal business hours this week are going to be tough, but I'll make something work if I have to. It's got plastic for now but don't want to leave it too long.

Should I talk to Matt?

Yes, email Matt. I don't think anyone is in this Saturday. He should have your VIN, but have him check to see if we have that window in stock that we might be able to steal or set aside.

Speaking of emergency exit windows. I got some bad advice and now my awning arm covers my emergency exit beside the bed. I would like to add a new emergency exit window with a screen over the back of the bed. I love fresh air flow for people and the dog. The RV is a 24 ft. Forest River Sunseeker. I'd like to get the work done locally; close to Toronto, ON. Any suggestions where to get a new window that meets my requirements would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. KP

Free WiFi even, just like Starbucks. Minus the coffee...donuts, snacks and hipsters on their mac's. (ooh, after reading this back I rhymed...didn't even mean to) At some point I want to add a Keurig....but I think it would just be my warranty people that sneak over and use it.
