Remote Switch

Just want to make sure when I should have the Remote switch ( Inverter )on and when I should leave it off. Should it be off when I am plugged into electricity? Is it OK to leave it on all the time?

there are lots of posts you can search for on this subject with lots of opinions. but there probably is no definitive answer. it kinda depends on what you want to accomplish and what you use the inverter for.

if you have a residential refrigerator you probably want it on while not connected to shore power to run the refrigerator. if you have a residential refrigerator and you are connected to shore power the jury is split. some will say turn the inverter off. some will say leave it on so that it can power the refrigerator should you lose shore power.

if you only use it perhaps run a tv while boondocking most would say leave it off except when watching the tv to save battery power.

read some of the posts and you'll get lots of ideas and reasons behind them.

Right or wrong, I turn my inverter off when I plug into power and only turn it on if there is some 110v device I need to run while unplugged. I have an RV two way fridge, so usually the TV and satellite are the only things I run going down the road.
