Typical systems have TWO power connections. One is active all the time and is used to retain settings (volume, balance, equalization, radio stations and current selections). The other is only active when the key is on.
If you were just poking around and saw the "all the time" power and didn't check for "key on" power, you may have fooled yourself.

I replaced the one in my 2018 with the Kenwood DNX775RVS. My 2021 came with the Kenwood DNX775RVS standard. I just swapped it out for the new Kenwood DNR1008RVS with a floating 10.1” screen. A bit pricey, but it is awesome.

Quite frankly, I don’t remember exactly. It was 2019 when I did the original swap. I believe there is a thread on here that dates back to that time and discussed the install. I do remember that it was relatively straight forward. The power plugs don’t match, if I remember right, so you just have to splice the plug into the existing coach wiring. Again, pretty straight forward. Taking off the top of the dash made it way easier. Do a search and see if it pops up.

Here is one thread on the subject where several of us discussed how to do it.

Riverpark
My gracious friend Motorhome1 had a riverpark unit that he removed from his old motor home and brought it to the rally. This morning he swapped it out with mine and his worked perfectly
Thanks again Bob
