RV Delivery issues - Left Factory June 30th ???

Hello Bill
We have an Isata 5 that left your place on June 30th. My Salesman @ Holiday world says he has been trying to get the status but the Unit cannot be found and the company you use is closed down for 10 days( Those are his words)
It seems that when folks have been waiting for their unit for 5 months and have vacations planned this delay happens. I know you have no say over the delivery companies schedule but no one knows where the unit is ?? Really you think even drivers have Cell phones and GPS theses day ?
thanks for letting me vent.

Well, I was going to call in some favors because I know the GM of that transportation company, but figured I'd call first. They picked up on first ring, transferred me to the motorhome department. I guess the sales rep was already emailing them about it. They show the unit as "delivered".

It looks like it was a different unit. The Isata did not show up until Monday.

Five weeks and they don't know where it is? Incredible and no excuse. One would think that a manufacturer and dealer would be communicating about location. Manufacturer should be concerned with delivery because it is theirs until delivered. Dealer should be concerned because they have a responsibility to buyer. Wait-dealer has your money, he has no further use for you.
Keep us posted.

Really? Did you read the post? It left June 30th, it was not missing for 5 weeks. He was waiting 5 months for a retail order...which can be normal depending on time of year. The unit left on the 29th to be exact and arrived on the 3rd which is pretty darn good. There just seemed to be a little confusion over the holiday weekend as to the whereabouts.

Post #2 was me, the manufacturer reaching out and letting him know the unit showed as "delivered".

No worries...I was being unusually snarky because I had just read some posts from a few that loooooove to jump on any bandwagon that bashes the mfg. Their new found purpose in life is to spread bitterness and discontent, even to the content. Or maybe its my usual snarky...but in reading that back it had more bite than I intended.

Haha I thought it was the perfect amount of snarky. Makes your responses more genuine.

I had the same reaction but chose to walk away as I've got enough stress in my life

I can only assume that he thinks I'm Bill. I could change my screen name, but now its like an inside joke. I respond to any name that begins with a B.

I wish I could walk away. I have a sick need to correct wide ranging assumptions, over dramatic responses, false claims and asinine theories. My favorites...

"The factory obviously KNEW this was wrong and just sent it out to save a buck". Yeah, cause paying a dealer double what I pay my guys, for half the expertise has me bathing in dough.

"They made that change just to save money". Because as we all know, adding a manual dump mid model year is free.

I would love to post some of the letters I get. I know that the same things happen on the dealer, salesman even factory side (crazy responses). But let's not pretend that there isn't a batch of retail customers with a little crazy in the family as well.

Apparently FastFrigate not only thinks Brian’s name is Bill, I believe he also thinks this forum is part of Forest River…which it is not.

I agree. Brian was one of the reasons I bought my Forester. If each division has a rep on here occasionally it would be a big asset to FR.
