Samsung DVD player replacement

In my 2018 Isata 5 36DS, the Samsung HT-J4500 Blu-Ray DVD player died (heat problem, cuts out 5.1 surround speakers). Has anyone replaced this player? Samsung doesn’t manufacture DVD players any more. Seems to be unique because it has 6 jacks in rear for the 6 overhead speakers and subwoofer.

What you are looking for is a dvd player for a 'home theater' system. As you've discovered, it has been discontinued, but these are the technical specs that you can use to try and find something similar. https://www.walmart.com/ip/SAMSUNG-5...inued/44362900
At the bottom of the page they have some 'similar' dvd players. You're probably going to have to take measurements and visit an electronics store.

Thank you. The problem is that the current models don’t have the six unique Samsung ports in the rear that would go to my six ceiling speakers. I’ll likely have to settle for a sound bar, and just leave my ceiling speakers disconnected. Disappointing, to say the least. I would think Dynamax should be responsible for a solution, since my RV is only 4 years old.

You might need your post moved to the Dynamax section where you might get more model specific help.

There has to be something out there because people still connect several speakers to one unit. Maybe a signal splitter?

I have never had good luck with Samsung, stuff just isn't made well IMO.

Hi Jim, thanks for your note. I agree re Samsung. It was installed in my I5 when I bought it. If I replace it, wouldn’t be a Samsung (of course, they don’t make DVDs anymore, anyway). That being said, Samsung contacted me, advised they would repair it for free, and sent me an address label. If they fix it and it works, I’m home free, at least for a while. Also got an offer from another Forum member who said he would send me the unit he took out of his 2018 Isata, which might be the same model. In either case, I should be OK. Again, thanks for the link and your advice!

Update: I shipped my DVD to Samsung on Oct 26. They fixed and shipped on Oct 28. I am awaiting receipt and will advise end result. Thank you all for your advice and suggestions.
