Satellite
Hello folks, I've got a 2021 Isata3 with a Winegard T-4 satellite. I've had problems with it connecting to DirecTV. After several days I have finally diagnosed the problem to the cable coming down from the dome to the receiver. I discovered that when I connected a long coax from the "MAIN" off the dome to the receiver directly.
Anyway, since I can't seem to get a local dealer to even consider looking at it because I did not purchase from them, does anyone have an idea how the cable is routed thru the RV. Is there a panel or a splitter somewhere between the roof and the cabinet where the cables come out? Hope this makes sense.
thank you

From the roof sat...there is no splitter. There SHOULD be two however inside the coach.
1. I would check the coax ends and make sure they are properly crimped and look right.
2. Maybe, the MAIN, got damaged somehow? If that is the case, can you try using the secondary?

The cable comes right off the Sat into the refer area, direct run. There should be two coax: the one that is taped is the main line from the SAT.

I tried all three coax cables none works except when I connect it directly from dome to receiver. BTW, nothing is marked or taped unfortunately. And they don't look damaged.

We're working on color coding all of the cables....but shortages abound and the colors are not in yet. Only trusty black.
One, is a home run from Exterior cable to inside in the event you use a portable sat.
One is Main, one is secondary. How do the ends AT the satellite look?

They all appear fine, for good measure I did fix one of them that appeared to have a short pin.

I will say....with my HOME Satellite service, the wire run was too long and not conducting enough power to get the "set up" completed. I had to run a direct cable (per their instructions). Once I got the set-up done, I was able to use the normal cabling, because according to them the signal strength requirements were not as high for operation as it was for setup.
I am only throwing that out there as a possibility...though slim. Those are direct runs, not very long. I can see maybe one being damaged internally, but two? that is not as probable. If you had a coax toner, you could confirm...but maybe get it set up with the direct line to start, then see if it will work for normal operation.

If I’m understanding correctly, you are saying for me to hook a direct coax line from the roof to the receiver by-passing everything. I actually did that and it works. I used a 25’ line from roof off of “MAIN” on dome to receiver H24 and it worked. I believe you and I communicated about this on FB and I put all my findings there couple days ago as a reply to you. Thanks again for addressing.

Yes, I saw that. I am saying, fully complete the installation and setup with a direct cable and then see if it will work connected to factory cables once the initial setup is done and you are watching TV. That assumes that the the signal strength is impeded in somewhat or there is too much interference to complete setup....but at home, I was able to use normal TV once it was set up with a direct run. I am very doubtful this is the case....but it is the last "easy" thing to try without toning all the cables or taking to a dealer.

FYI. Our new 28ss has 3 coax cables coming in over the stove. One blue and 2 black coax. The 2 black were coming from the Satellite antenna. I connected both to our DTV Receiver ( HR24-200) and had to play with the satellite setup for a bit to get everything to come in (SD Only) using the RoadTrip T4 Installation Guide.

Yes, the blue is the one color we got in. That should be the home run from exterior to interior for a mobile dish.
