Shore power problem

When SP chord is attached, the TV,radio come on immediately. However the interior ceiling lights will not turn on from their wall switches UNTIL the Battery Control switch by the entry door is engaged !!!!! Is this normal ????? Thanks, Seahenry

It would help to know which RV you have? I cheated and looked it up;
"Dynamax 2017 REV 24TB",
but it always helps to include it in your opening post. Or to add it to your signature so it's attached to every post.

Do you have a volt meter and know how to use it? If so, check the voltage at the batteries when on shore power to see if they are being charged.

Totally normal. The ceiling lights are powered by the battery, and will not operate when the battery switch is in the off position. The other items are powered by the "shore power" supplied by the power cord.
