Silencing the screen door on M2

Screen door looks to be squeaking pretty badly when we hit bumps on the super smooth roads we have these days.. It's one of those things that is hard to troubleshoot as I don't want someone sitting in the stairs while rolling down the highway to see where the noises are coming from. But, I think I found the culprit, the rubber seal on the screen door looks to slide around a bit in the frame and it makes the same squeak if I move it around. Would anyone have a recommendation of what to spray/wipe on the seal to make it quit? I know it's going to make noises going down the road, I'm cool with that, but this squeak is so annoying.

Thanks,
Jim

I have had the same issue that seems to come and go. I've had luck with Sprayway mold release spray because that is what I have on hand--it is a dry silicone that leaves no residue and is pretty slick. There are many others. I just spray all the gaskets around the door and that seems to help.

We may have a different screen door on our 2018, but I put a piece of adhesive neoprene on the back of the screen door latch, keeps it from rubbing on the door and squeaking. Also on the older unit doors “Challenger Doors” the lock is held on with 3 or 4 allen screws on the side of the door, they work loose and also squeak. I put a little bit of Blue Loctite on them, put them back in and got rid of all the squeaks.

Thanks, I was actually thinking some sort of dry silicone spray, figured I'd ask first though. I know, such real-world problems I bring...

I believe Dynamax did change doors in 2020 or 2021, the newer ones have a metric crapton of bolts on the hinge side, all of those are tight, I'll check again though. The door is very heavy duty, just the screen door part slides around a bit.

Thanks,
Jim

You might be able to adjust the screen door latch enough to put a bit more pressure on the seal. I've done this in the past to eliminate the majority of squeaks. The dry lube may help, as well.

Also check the plastic slider in the screen door. If I leave mine in the open position it squeaks while driving. Now I close the plastic slider before driving.

You might try lubricating the main door latch post. It slides up and down. Had awful squeeks till I lubricated this part inside and out. Squeeks went away.

quick fix

Put one wrap of black electrical on the door post stud. The small post midway up the door on the body. Noise will go way, but the tape will eventually wear thru. Then replace the tape, simple fix, been doing it for years.
