Slide maintenance
As we all know, slides work hard to get in and out. But I get a feeling it seems the rubber gaskets are not slippery enough, or have become less slippery. Would some spray silicone now and again around the slide gaskets be a good idea? Or is there some other maintenance for the do-it-your-self-er that would be better/more preferred?

Spray silicone could work but I've used baby powder, R/V Rubber Seal Conditioner spray or 303 Protectant with better results.

Good advice. Heading to Walmart shortly. Will see if I can find any R/V Rubber Seal Conditioner spray or 303 Protectant. No Camping World nearby. (traveling)

Is there a recommended seal lube maintenance interval?

I am using 303 and think annually would be fine.

I'll vote for the 303 Protectant. Sometimes hard to find out West.

Hmm. My seal maint is....NEVER . And my RV is always outside in the SW sun. But I will admit, after 9 years I am having to replace some of the slide top bubble seals. But all the wiper seals are still going strong.

Factory recommendation is every 90 days. I also use 303.

Thanks for the info. I couldn't find 303 at the Walmart I am currently near. Closest I could find is 3in1 RVcare Slide-out lube. It all seems to be silicone based. Its actually pretty cool because it shoots about a four foot pointed stream, sort of like hornet spray, so I was able to get to the high spots on the slides I would have otherwise needed a ladder, which is stowed and awkward to get to.

Another vote for 303! A little more expensive than an Armor-All type product, but outperforms them all, hands down. If you follow the application instructions you will have good results. A little bit of the 303 goes a long ways. I have a 16 oz bottle that I purchased in 2018, and it's still half full.

Just make sure the Slide Out Lube you bought is OK for Slide SEALS and not specifically for the mechanical moving slide rack parts as some of those lubes contain products that might be harmful to rubber and could make a gooey mess..
