It seems to me that this is a 'short' within a switch, otherwise two wires touching... whether that switch is the physical electronic 'push button' on the wall, or the real 'switch' within the multiplex/precision main panel. Maybe moisture effects it, maybe coach movement, but it seems as if two wires are accidentally touching/shorting for this to happen.

The emergency brake was engaged. I’m pretty sure the slide will not open with it off. At least when I tried it. I removed the wall switch and disconnected the plug. It also stops the slide from opening with the plug removed. At least I can drive it to dealer without worrying about the slide opening now. That’s still 6 weeks away.

I would disconnect the precision plex first, reconnect everything else back up, set the parking brake and see what happens.

Glad you’re on the pathway to getting it handled. For a minute there I figured it really was possessed-and boy was I looking forward to the suggestions on [B]that[B]one!

I found wiring diagrams online for the power gear controller and touch pad. When checking the pin on the touchpad coming off the extend switch the voltage reads 4 to 6 volts with no button pressed. If I disconnect the plug from the touch pad the voltage reads 0. The retract pin reads 0 volts plugged in or not. It appears there is voltage leaking through the touch pad. I’m not sure if 6 volts would be enough to open the slide but it does act erratic when I twist the touchpad. As this is a printed circuit board there is no way to troubleshoot touchpad. I asked dealership to send me one but they said they would have to test the unit before sending. That’s not gonna happen for 6 weeks. I found the touchpad on amazon. Thinking about ordering and just eating the cost of the device. Cost is a little over a hundred bucks. Any other suggestions before I order the touchpad?

Slide possessed

Is it reading 6 volts on both sides of the touchpad extend switch? Post a pic. Has it ever retracted on its own? Put the slide out halfway and test the retract and extend pins for voltage again. This will test both sides without either being at a stop. If you have the same results you probably found your culprit.

You can always return the switch if that is not it or if it is submit your receipt and old switch for warranty reimbursement.

It has never retracted on its own just extended. I checked both fully extended and fully retracted along with halfway I was actually able to check voltage while is was extending and the pin only had 6 volts. When I push the button is goes to twelve as it should. I’m convinced the touchpad is bad.

Update to this issue is fixed. I ordered a touchpad (my dime) replaced and no more issues. No more voltage on the extend signal when the button is not pressed.
Thanks for everyone’s help with this.

You should submit the purchase of the touchpad as a claim to Dynamax. You will see other threads where folks have self performed warrant work and been reimbursed. Quite honestly, it’s usually a better outcome than the dealer if you have those abilities. Glad to hear you got it fixed.
