Slide Roller Not Turning

I have a 2018 Isata 4 and I just noticed that the slide rollers on the bedroom slide for the most part are not rotating. Many years ago, I had it at Dynamax and they put slide roller plates on the bottom of the slides since the rollers were digging into the floor. Everything has been fine up to this point. I am thinking I should replace them, so I have a couple questions. First, can they be replaced without removing the slide? Second, I am guessing there are 4 screws holding the rollers on, but I can't even see the inside screws, hoping someone has been there done that. I appreciate any insight.

We had the same issue with our DX3. Ours had the just the nylon rollers. Replaced all the rollers with new with bearings. We contacted Cass directly and the customer support person helped us select the correct roller/bearing combo. We lifted the slide with a couple of jacks and 2x4's. Removed the roller axel bolt by unthreading the axel nut and sanding off the welded bolt head using a small belt sander from harbor freight. Tapped out the old bolt with a punch and installed the new rollers. Did all three slides in about 2 hours.

Wonder who was the genius that thought it a good idea to weld the bolt head for retention??
This is absolutely an area.....due to accessibility that welding is a Bone Head idea!

idea!!!!!

Quick question, Do you have the part number they gave you? Mine have pins that are pinned so I would have to grind one end and drive out. My rollers are approximately 7/8 in diameter and 4 3/16 long (total, 2 smaller rollers in the bracket

We had the same pins as you do. I called them bolts in the original post. There are 2 nylon rollers per bracket. Here is a photo of the order.

Thank you so much! Your post helped me tremendously. Kyle helped me figure it out. I bought the unit with bracket because my plan was to install the assembly. After trying to remove the mounting screws I found out that the screws are too long to remove with the side installed. 😩 I did your trick with a 1/2x18 sander and got the pins out, stupid I say. The new rollers with bearing went in with a good talking to. I’m glad I only had 2 slides. I could only imagine what I would have spent if I had taken it to an “expert”.
Again, thank you your post was really appreciated

I'm glad you were able to replace them. The idea of sanding the pins came from our son who is a fabricator and a lot smarter than me. I do my own repair and maintenance work unless it's out of my league, like upholstery, body work, paint, etc. Mostly because I want it done right.

My career was auto mechanics, and I was considered a master tech, whatever that is supposed to be. I try and do all my servicing and repairs but sometimes these RVs are a little out there. It certainly seems that they could be produced in a more friendly design for repair, but doubt anyone cares in this throw away society. Buy it, wear it out, dump it, sad times. I guess I was just born too long ago. Again, thank you, glad you had a fabricator in the family.
