Slide sounds and adjustment?
In looking at my new unit more closely it looks like the slide may need a slight adjustment. Front bottom is out more than rear without full contact of seal.
Thoughts?
Also, when I extend or retract the slide it makes an odd sound. Sounds like something skipping or grinding. Here's a video and you can hear the pops.. maybe it's the cable??
My previous RV didn't make a similar sound, but it was a different style slide mechanism. Is this normal for the full slide?

The sound of the slide is just like mine, perfectly normal for Power Gear.
I do think your slide at the bottom is maybe 1/2” too far out. I would take it to your dealer for adjustment. It may be just the slide stops, but because your slide looks tight at the top, I think it’s more than just the stops. My slide is pictured below and the rubber seal at the bottom touches. The slide will be tight at the top, just how it works.
I put some dry lube on just the gear behind the rubber seal at the top and bottom. Do NOT lube the track. If you pull the rubber cover back, you will see a gear where the track passes. There are four gears, two on each side top and bottom. Must use dry lube. Once I lubed the gears, I did see a smoother transition of the slide and it seemed to close better.

Milkman, Great to hear that the noise is "normal", I guess 🤪
As expected, looks like it does need adjustment.
I looked at the manual again and went to find the gear you mentioned lubricating. I can't physically see it but I guess I just squirt the dry lube in line with the gear track??
While I was out there looking I noticed a few things. Big one is that the front bottom rail is bent and up against the slide with no space 🌌 n between. The other 3 gear rails are straight and have about 3/4" space. That looks odd to me. How are yours?

The spacing of the rack and wether there is a space or not is normal. You will see some small felt squares that may or may not be present behind the track which keep it away from the slide, but it’s not a problem. The gear “pulls” the track from both directions to cause the slide to move.
If you get a flashlight and shine into the black square opening, you will see the gear. It’s fine to put a SMALL quantity of dry lube in that opening. Do NOT lube the track, very important.

Also, make sure the chassis engine is running when operating the slides....that 14.4 volts makes a big difference in that last inch or so.

Yes, I have been doing so. I did try one "fully" charged with Shore power and lot a low voltage warning towards the end....never again

Operational question. I was under the impression that the RV should be leveled first before putting the slide out to ensure smooth slide operation. However, on our RV when turning on the engine to operate the slide the Equalizer leveling system is chirping away since the engine is running, and the slide out is not operational. What am I doing wrong?

interesting. during PDI last moth I was told to do slide first then level.....which I was thinking didnt make sense.

One thing I learned last summer was to set the engine to fast idle. That helps get that 14.4v fast and it stays steady. Start the engine, push cruise on, then set. It will run up to about 1100 rpm.

I have a question. When you were running the slide out in the video, were you on shore power or just the battery. The reason I ask is that the motor sounded as it was under powered or under an incredibly heavy load.
It sounded to me as if it would stop at any moment and be done for good.
I hope that is not the case.

Haha! Yes! I don't advise running the slide out while going down the road....
Turn the Cruise Control on; then push the set Cruise Button and the engine will idle up to 1100 rpm. It helps the output of the alternators and it's better for the engine to idle at that speed.

I had the engine running at the time. Unfortunately it sounds like that all the times I have tried it

Thanks for the info. I tried it yesterday and watched the batter charging via the Victron app...WOW!!!!....the amps flowing in suddenly jumped up to around 1400 and voltage very quickly started to head over 14

That’s the only real complaint I had with my Isata3RW. I’d always look and see if anyone was close by before operating the slides so they wouldn’t hear them. Beautiful coach, but I hated the sound of the slides. That said I never had any problems with them over 3 years and 40,000 plus miles. I always made sure I never ran them with low voltage though.

So did the slide run better? Did the motor sound better?
So you ever put your slides in and out with shore power? I dont know much about coaches but I would think shore power would certainly help.

I tried once on shore power and it was weaker...even got a Low Voltage warning at the very end....so I have stuck to running the engine
