I'm not sure i'm 100% sure what you're referring to. I don't know that we give the dealers any troubleshooting procedures. We know most of the normal stuff, things we se and help that way. Beyond that we would refer to LCI as they are the ones that make the slide. They are the ones that would send any additional troubleshooting procedures.

Dinette Slide No Fully Extending

2019 I5 DS - Last 8 of VIN JG270504

Just pulled into campsite in Ashville NC for a week. Bedroom slide works fine. Dinette wouldn't come out after multiple tries. Wife gave it one more try and it came out part way and stopped. No error codes. Plugged in to shore power. Won't go in or out now. Thoughts? Try resetting per video notwithstanding no error codes?

Update: Attempted stop reset per video and per manual. Won't work. All that happens is both green and red LEDs flash continuously. Stuck for tonight.

Day 2 update: Woke up and saw the control panel was flashing one green and one red light. So attempt slide reset again. Phase 1 press and holding for 5 seconds got it into reset mode, but then I couldn't get in the slide. On a lark, I tried to get it out. It went out, but now it won't come in and green and red lights are blinking constantly again. Will live with this for a while today and then revisit yet again.

Green-Red lights flashing one-one-one is the slide stops are lost. If you watch the slide video, that also makes sense in that it WANTS you to set the OUT stop first. It will not come in, so people think it is broken...but when it doesn't, know the slide stops it wants to set the OUT stop first. So it will only move out.

Bummer, when did Dynamax stop doing hydraulics. I have never had any problems with hydraulic slides. It seems this electric stuff is problematic & overly complicated as hell with alignment, stop switches, and homing. Can I order the future short M2 with hydraulic slides instead?

No

They seem problematic because you only read about problems. We have very few slide issues on the M2. But no one is on here posting everyday when their slide works....they will when there is an issue however.

Update: Got a return call from Brian Meeks on Friday and after discussion, decided it was the module. Sent me a replacement that arrived Monday. I replaced on Tuesday and all good.

Slide Issues

Found this post after running through all of this:

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ue-194886.html

2016 Dynamax Isata FW
Last 8 of VIN: G9637692

Buttons weren’t working. Struggled through the reset, but most of the time the in button doesn’t do anything. Left the slide out, left for the day and when I returned home the slide had retracted on its own. Now the reset won’t work.

We are not the original owner.

Our kitchen slide simply quit working. I have not been able to reset the switch. The emergency procedure worked and the slide is in currently in.

That's a little different. If you reset the slide stops, let us know if that works.

2020 Dynamax Isata 5 30FW

I have not had either of the specific issues mentioned in Mr. Clemens' OP, but I have had 2 slide out motor failures in the first 60 days of ownership. Both times the slide out was stuck in the out position. Both times it was the rear motor. Batteries were fully charged and on shore power. I have watched the video and read the Slim Rack instructions. I removed the touchpad, pushed the reset button and was able to get the front motor to operate, but the rear would not. Flashing lights indicated Fault Code 4 "Major Motor Fault" according to the slim rack manual.

The first time Dynamax shipped a new motor overnight and I had a mobile RV service install it (Dynamax reimbursed the cost). I took it back to the dealer and had them check the slide operation and adjust the stops.

The second motor failed after operating the slide time only 5 or 6 times. The dealer shipped another new new motor and I installed it myself. I now carry a ladder and the necessary tools. I took it back to the dealer again to inspect the slide. It appeared the slide was not operating smoothly so they ended up installing shims at the rollers. I have operated the slide about 5 times since and so far so good. Hoping for the best, but I do hold my breath every time I push in In button.

I am on the recall list and waiting for an appointment at the dealer to install new control module and touchpad.

I have not had any luck resetting the stops at all. I have watched the videos, searched the forums, etc etc. I feel like I’m doing it properly. The kitchen slide was out when it stopped working. With the slide out, the screws are pulling out of the framing as you can see from the pics. This is a bit alarming. It’s almost like the the whole thing is torqued. I have not found anyone in our area that is comfortable trying to fix it nor a few other long term items we have. I have been in touch with CJ and hopefully we can get it into the factory at some point.

The issue there is the slide is going TOO far out. I would run it back in and do not run it all the way out as it is shown in the picture. I would stop it short (as soon as it makes contact) or you can do more damage. There is enough torque that it is pushing it out too far, and it is flexing the fascia on the inside and trying to rip it off.

We use a metal T for the fascia...many use wood. So it takes a lot of force to do what is shown.

That will need to go in for service to re-set the slide tops and repair the fascia.

Yes sir...that is exactly what I did. Then I used the top buttons (1&2) on the controller to make each side the same extended distance (18.125 +|- 1/16”) prior to attempting to reset the stops. Tried multiple times without success...perhaps the controller is the issue?

Could be...but make sure you are holding the Clear Faults/Set stops button for long enough. Just hold until it starts flashing. Then the OUT stop is always first. If it is already in...then just hit the set stop. Then do the out, but make sure you do not run it all the way out...as it is going too far out.
