Sofa with pedestal table in 28SS?
Hey everyone, just bought a new 28SS Xplorer package. Very excited for a July delivery, and we are finalizing our build this weekend. Conflicted between dinette, theater seating and sofa with pedestal table.
I personally want the dinette because it will always have a table rigged if need be. My wife wants the theatre seating because she wants to have a more comfy hang-out in the coach when I'm off on a moto ride or the like.
The good compromise seems to be the sofa with a pedestal table. Can't find a single picture of any rigged like that though. Does anyone have a pic of one installed?
Thanks in advance.

Happy wife happy life. There are lots of after market tables that are available which could be used in conjunction with theater seats. Also, there are collapsible ottomans that can be used as a seat, low table & storage unit.

Sofa is not as comfortable as the theater seats. Eat outside at the picnic table...problem solved

Don’t let your wife read this but not only did we go with theater seats but we also opted for a DishTv sat system.

We actually deleted the mobile satellite. We don’t watch TV anyway.
And, we have a young daughter. Need to seat 3 for eating. The sofa would likely do that, but would love to see a pic before pulling the trigger.
The theatre seats come with a very nice, adjustable TV tray option on a well considered aluminum mount. But, again, that is for two people.
We have no problem with going outside to eat, but we camp during the winter in sand dunes, and it is often inhospitable outside due to sand and wind storms etc... we are getting an RV to have a comfortable place to escape the weather. It’s been said that to be truly happy with a sailboat, make sure it has a good motor. Sure, you want to sail, but you can’t always. We have been skunked on weather enough to know that if you want to be happy camping in the SoCal high desert, you need a way to get out of the weather.

The 24FW and 28SS are the same slide out, same sofa.

here is a 24FW sofa. The only difference is we no longer do the little tables. They seemed to be too wobbly in the mount and just have the big table instead. You can always make your own table as well.

Thank you!
The post so close to the sofa seems to be afterthought-ish, but I get why it is done that way.
We are leaning back toward the dinette now, which is both of our least favorite option, but seems to add the most utility for what we need to do. We can always add a couch I guess.
Thanks!

I will say, I had the dinette for a week long trip. Depending on how old your daughter is, my 14 year old son often spent time hanging out in the Cab Over. There is LOTS of headroom there, so he would lean against the wall in his own space, reading or on his phone. (if weather was bad). It's really like a "fort" up there.
During the day, I would put a pillow against the back wall and lean back with my legs stretched out on the dinette. That was pretty comfortable as well.

The 28 has enough floor space, that on a rainy day, like today on the SC coast, we bring our camp chairs inside for lounging. And we still have the dinette for computer work and eating. There is room enough for two regular sized camp chairs (what we use), or maybe one of the bigger reclining style.

Oh thanks! I wondered how you did it as well.
Does the sofa "pull out" for the extra bed (and I guess you take the table out) or is it that you just get rid of the back cushions?

Yes, take table out of the post.
This is a Tri-fold sofa, not a Jack-knife. So the bottom pulls up and out, the back folds down. Similar to this. not our exact version.
