Spare Tire for REV RB

We would like to add a spare tire holder to the REV RB.

bclemens can I get information about the framing on the back of the REV? What the back looks like without the skin?

We traded our 2007 Winnebago View (rear bath also) for the 2015 REV RB. The View had a spare tire mounted on the back wall under the window. Plus dual rear wheels. Seven wheels total so you could always keep going if one went flat.

The REV has only four wheels. The generator sits where the spare would go.

Even hitch mounted spare wheels require a 2 inch hitch. Plus it would cover the license plate.

Thanks

The 18's have the extra weight. 15's not so sure about, but its mainly where to put it. The spare itself was only about 40lbs...I'm guessing the carrier might weight more than the spare.

I too have a 2015 REV and have considered a spare but only have 6,500 miles and will chance it on my upcoming 2 month trip to Balloon Fiesta and west coast leaving from Mt Dora. Here,s what I found out...There is a front mount hitch made for the 3500 RAM that sells for 135.00 on Ebay. By the time you buy the rim and tire , you'll be somewhere around 500.00. Then add 90 lbs by the time your done. I carry an e bike on a rack on the rear so the front mount would be the way I go. They also make a rear mount that goes on your hitch but its 2"and by the time you get a converter, you will no doubt have wobble room. As for me ill take my chances on my 12k trip and pass on the spare. Take my email as we have the same coach and good idea to stay in contact. BTW , I heard no more Recs will be made after 2018.
