std 24x36 shower, does it work for you?

So I have been getting serious in looking for a new rig.

One of the stickling points is the shower, I am 6-4 300lbs, any dimension of the shower less than 30"s is just a flat deal breaker. My current slide-in's wet bath works beautifully but I would be hung by my toenails if I ever suggested a wet bath in here

I have spent the last several months traveling and looking, there are a whole lot of other mfrs using a 30 x 36 as their standard.

Am I a big outlier on this?
I really like the europa 32kd floor plan, it checks everything nicely EXCEPT the 24 x 36 shower, and the 6.7 motor, but that is a different discussion.

That floor plan is coming to the DX3 and the XL this year. I think the showers are going to get standardized at 26x36. Not a big difference, but I find that using an Arcadia shower (curved top rail) is the best of both worlds. It does not make the bathroom smaller when all the way open, yet makes the shower 3-4" bigger when it is closed while showering.

We have a 2022 Force 34KD. I'm 6'1" tall and 200 lbs. No matter what, it's going to be a tight fit. It is for me. I would suggest that you physically go look at the model you are interested in and pretend that you are takng a shower in it.

Of course, as far as I'm concerned, physically experiencing the model you are interested in in person should always be a priority.

I have faked many a shower, the 24 x 36 is a deal breaker, just doesnt work, however I am pretty confident I can pull the 24x36 and slip in a 30x36 without too much problem in the 32KD, a bit more work in the 28SS.

Going back to our local lot today actually tape measure in hand
If not I guess I may have to live with a folding bed and do the 30FW or 31SS

The search for the right one is always most of the fun anyway.

It does, along with the Isata 5 30FW, they work great!

I know everyone has their own wants and needs, but for us we boondock and tow in the mountains 75% of the time. So length, power, OCCC along with the shower size are the drivers.

30-34'
Preferably L9 or DD8 power
3000+/- OCCC figuring 500lbs water, 650lbs tongue weight, 700lbs occupants, 250lbs clothes and food, 200lbs ice chests, 700lbs of gear??
shower with the least dimension of 30" min

The 30FW is under on OCCC, looked at one yesterday and it was 1620
The Europa is very nice, OCCC of 12,000, but the dry weight is about 3500lbs more than the 30FW (same floor plan)so the 6.7 gets a 3500lb handicap performance wise by being in the M2, gotta pay to play.

I think I am leaning to the 28SS
31'-2" is hard to beat
6.7 at an estimated 27,000 GCW with trailer is not perfect but will do.
2600 OCCC, like the 6.7 not perfect but I can work with it
Shower is a problem.

After looking at a bunch of in construction pics from dynamax facebook page

I am pretty sure I can remodel the bathroom to accommodate a larger shower. It wont be perfect but it will do!

The HUGE bonus us that rear pass thru compartment , I have some ideas of a pull out with full size cooktop, BBQ, and 12v cooler.

Moving the smaller floorplan to the DX3 doesn't work, unless I bring a really long extension cord, because of the all electric and no LP. Solar and batteries only go so far especially under the canopy of evergreens and sequoias. I do not want to have to cycle the generator every day. And the price jump from the I5 is BIG!

Here is what we have ran since 05, it has a big enough wet bath but climbing up into the bed is getting old, like me! I turned up the 5.9 a bunch but that comes with a cost of a new set of clutch packs in the forward clutch every 5-7 years. In other words I just put in my 3rd trans in 95,000 miles. Stock made it about 18,000, first Goerend made it 60,000, 2nd Georend has some new goodies not available previously so I am hopeful to make another 60-70, then when I sell, it should be good for the new owner, probably my son!
