Steps going in and out while driving

We were in Blanding Utah. Rain, snow, and slush. Our step started to go in and out on its own while driving. I cut and bypassed the door switch but that wasn't it!
This is on an Isata 3 24 fw, 2019.
I could not find where the fuses were to turn it off permanently! What do I need to do to fix this. I am looking at removing the step for good and placing a step down each time.
I do not want to do this but the step can go in and out while in traffic as it has, or while you are on it getting in or out.
This is a very good motorhome but just a few small things causing problems. thanks leonard.

Mine did that on the way home from the dealership after purchasing. I found a short at the short exposed section of wires between the door and the control panel, inside the flexible wire covering, where that narrow strip of floor meets the wall just right of the door. One of the wires wasn't crimped properly in the butt connector. You say you bypassed that so not sure if this helps, but good luck!

I had issues with my step (Lippert). Step would do all kinds of crazy stuff, in and out on its own, sometimes wouldn't work at all. Ended finding a video online explaining that the power plug on the motor itself tends to have a bad connection. I unplug the wires from the motor, used a needle nose pliers to put a little twist in the male prongs on the motor side so they would make better contact, this solved all the issues, step has worked great ever since.

I also have had the same issue when driving in a torrential down pour. I fixed it by wrapping the control module and wiring with plastic and sealant. No more problems with step. I have to assume the control was not 100% waterproof.

We have had similar problems when it is wet weather. Returned from a trip parked in the driveway and the steps kept going in and out all by themselves.

We have had that happen several times. It was the adjustment on the contacts on the door closer. Just need to realign and adjust in or out.

On the Dynaquest I think that there's an in-wire fuse under the step area. We blew the fuse and it took quite a bit of searching to find it.

I replaced the door switch with a sp single throw toggle switch. Much better! Now it will not go out on it's own when opening the door. No more hitting the curb! You throw the switch, it opens and you can still lock it out! Extended out and also does not open and close a zillion times if you are just loading the camper!

This is either a magnet issue, which i dont believe it is,most likely the brain under the step is getting wet as suggested by others, try covering it with something.
