Storage comparisons for full timing in DX3
Couple questions for those that have these already.
How does the overall storage compartment layout / sizes compare to something like the Forester 3051S? From the pics I can find the DX3 doesn’t have pass through basement like the one in our 3051.
Second, anyone full timing in theirs? Wife and I are thinking of either the TS (love the layout and where the television / fireplace is for the option) or the RB for the additional bath when guests are visiting.
Couple years probably until we are ready and closer to retirement but our 3051 took us two years to find so figured I’d start the research now [emoji3]
Besides always fun to look....

Don't know about storage in the 3051S, but there are pass thrus under the DX3, they are just the top part of the bay, maybe 12-18" high? Mine is not with me right now to measure. There are 3 i think that pass thru? We have our gravity chairs, hammock stand, any long items up in there.

Cool, thanks. We have one in the back that is probably the same height in the 3051 - deeper on each end. Going to see some this weekend but starting the research.
Exactly what I was looking for since our outside table, gravity chairs, etc are in the pass thru now but haven’t seen a pic of the storage on the DX3 that showed any passthrus

We're fully loaded in our BH and have 2 bins nearly empty and another one that could be consolidated into others. Inside cabinet space is at about 80%. Bunks are our overflow plan.
We dont full time but have talked about it, and I dont see any reason it wont work. Obviously its going to be tighter than a 45' pusher, but with a little discretion I really dont see any reason it wont work.

Thanks, like the idea of having the engine in front of us just in case and probably easier for DW to assist with driving than a 45 foot class A

I used to work at the Forester division. The DX3 will be considerably more storage than the 3051 with full pass throughs.

Thanks Brian. We are going to look at a couple tomorrow. DX3 RB and a Force HD TS. May check out a Berk locally too to compare but love the looks etc of the Dynamax. Planning early so we can figure out where we need to be when we are ready - just a little more than the 3 year old 3051 we got a real good deal in [emoji3]

Well you were correct Brian. Met Jason from Performance RV and looked at the force hd TS all upgraded to essentially a DX3 and the DX3 RB. To my surprise the wife liked the RB better.
Of course he had a Show Hauler there also - had to look - amazing but 470k little out of reach [emoji3]
So, question - has any thought been given to putting individual recliners where the couch is in either the TS or the RB?
In the TS would be the one on same side as the dinette.
Liked the idea of the all electric setup too with the aqua hot. Lose a little storage but gain some back with no propane tank.

Not only did we think about it...we already offer it. Well...not necessarily individual because you don't really have the room to rotate them. But two of them, that recline individually with a center console in between

Thanks. Performance has one coming in TS with the televator and fireplace instead of the couch and the theater seating. I hope the theater seats are more comfortable than the standard couch [emoji3]

Yeah showed us the two he had in and we are waiting for the TS with the theater seating to arrive so we can check that option out. Just the two of us so no need for the extra beds etc. Hoping the theater seats are more comfy than the couch - they were way to hard for our liking.
Jason did seem pretty laid back - never asked when we were going to buy or anything just took us around and gave us our first education on them.

we ordered the theater seats, one reason we sold the last unit. The Theater seats are really comfy and they have little tables for ipad etc...
we will have to run into each other this coming season. We camp at the KOA in Mansfield, love it. Very nice.
We also stay at the KOA at Buckeye Lake for Mopar Nationals.

We were just down at the Pomona show and ordered one of the DX3 37TS - we got the televator/fireplace and the theater seating - they had a Force HD with the theater seating and it was much more comfortable than the standard couch - looking forward to a few naps while camping there.

Yeah we’ll have to touch base. We went to the koa in Hocking Hills the week of Labor Day this year. Nice place and lots to see around there. New micro brewery and moonshine distillery not far away too.
Stayed at the one outside Sunbury too - used to be something else but they are fixing it up etc.
Already have reservations for Milwaukee next year for Harley’s 115th party.

The biggest gain with the dx3, is that you can fill the storage up. Unlike the forester.
