Thank you, everyone for the great solutions. Just to let you all know, we are repaired and back on the road with a full tank! DH has resolved never to travel without at least 1/2 tank water but if we find ourselves stuck again, we know what to do.

Glad to hear you are back on the road.

Your situation certainly shows how one should always carry water in the tank while traveling. Assuming water will be available at your destination might be OK as long as you reach that destination and aren't faced with a several day stopover.

Or the old 'someone ran over the water spickett or forgot to unhook their water hose before they pulled away' thingy...and the park is without water while they fix it!

Seen that happen several times over the years...

Always happens when you are ready to take a shower, too!

Not so bad when you are about to take a shower. A "water shutoff" happened to me DURING a shower. You know it, just before the rinse cycle.

We had the "Someone went into an unoccupied area of the campground and turned on the water at 3 campsites" very low water pressure last month. It took them a while to find it. Glad we had some water in the tank. Thinking it was a broken water line, I added water to the tank while they looked for the problem.
